z710i D-unlock issues

I think I'm not doing something right. For the life of me, I can't get D-unlock to detect my phone when I plug it in. I'm following the instructions as they are written. I'm not sure if the problem could be that I have connected it before to another program (Wotan server/client) and it installed some of it's own drivers for the device. Whenever I try to connect the device while it is on, it automatically installed a bunch of drivers and now it only comes up as "Sony Ericsson Device 116 USB Ethernet Emulation (NDIS 5)". I've tried uninstalling old drivers and installing the ones that came with D-unlock, but the Add New Hardware wizard just will not come up. Anybody know what I need to do?????

try turning your phone off first.

ethernet emulation is only installed when your phone is on. It uses your phone as a base network to access the internet etc.

hold down C and then turn on.
