everyone is getting the white screen with the w850. its seems there is a batch or design fault with the phone(even my phone got it). i have made a complaint to sony ericsson already, but my voice wont be heard if i do it alone. so...complain COMPLAIN COMPAIN people!!!

ok! back to the problem...if you flashed it already and it flashes fine but you still get the white screen then replace the ribbon and the top key pad. im guessing its most probably the top key pad. good luck

I also have a sony ericsson w850i with the same problem, my screen only flashes and nothing else.. i have tried updating my phone with the official Sony update service and now i have cid53 and i cant flash it because i cant find the files to flash it with. i hope im making sense, because im a noob when it comes to phone software, please help :(

please help^ i need R1KG001 cid53 main(mbn) and file system(fbn) in order to flash it, please if anyone knows where i can find it, i would appreciate it a lot. thank you

I had the same problem. I just flashed it and it fixed the problem.
