Please Help...W850i

Hi,

Sorry im very new to the scene. Can someone out there plaese give me some guidelines on how to:

- Remove the Vodafone brand from my W850i
- Upgrade to the latest Sony Erricson W850i firmware

And basically teach/tell/advise/guide me on how to do it.
I dowloaded the W850_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_1_RED52 firmware, but i don't lnow if its right for my phone and/or how to install it.
FYI: The phone is already unlocked for all networks.

All help will be very much appreciated.

We need a little more information. What is your phone's EROM CID, and what language(s) do you need?

No problem. Connect the phone to XS++, and post the log.
How to do:
1. download the XS++: XS++ v3.1(Darwin)
2. install the USB Flash Driver: USB Flash Driver Installation - Guide
3. start XS++ and click on Connect button and connect the phone.

How to connect the phone to flashing tools:
When XS++ says to press the C key and connect the cable you need to:
1. Turn off the phone(if it was turned on)
2. Remove the battery, wait a few seconds(2-3 seconds is enough) and put it back, but DO NOT turn the phone on
3. Press and hold the C key on phone and connect the DCU-60 cable(data cable, what comes with phone).
4. When you see some progress on XS++ status window(on left side) release the C key.

i cant figure out what im doin wrong.... do i hold the C Button all the way through the process? do i let it go? do i leave my sim card inside?

First install the USB Flash Driver: USB Flash Driver Installation - Guide, and then connect the phone to XS++.

its very simple and i install things all the time, i dont understand why this is happening... ive also tried installign other ways but no luck...

Once it said installed, but then the whole computer froze! the keyboard and mouse loss functionality...:eek:

Download, and install this driver: USBFlash_driver.zip. It will work for sure.
