w580i - Keypad LEDs wont lite up and slide lock doesnt work

I finally was able to fix the flash on my phone after Sony's update program corrupted it TWICE!

As before, my slide lock wont lock the phone when its closed. I have it set to lock but that doesnt work. I also have my phone set to end a call when I close a slide and that works so I am lost.

Now my keypad LEDs wont come on. Anyone have any ideas why?

Your flex cable is damaged, its a hardware fault.You need to replace the flex cable.

Ok I got the new flex cable and I have took the phone apart but I need help. I cant get the rear PCB out and I need to to replace the cable. I have the service manual but it is less than helpfull.

I was finally able to replace the cable and put the phone back together but now the phone wont turn on. Troubleshooting it as I type.

I dont know how in the hell this happened but listen.


Somehow when i put the ribbon cable in it ripped at a 180 intersection. Not only does this piss me off but if the old cable doesnt work I am out of a phone. If the old cable doesnt work I will be buying a new non SE phone tonight.
