    Exclamation W580i black screen

Ok, I've been experiencing A LOT of screen problems w/ my W580i.

A couple of months ago, the screen started flashing, colors were distorted and it would flash. I opened up my phone and firmly connected the lcd ribbon. Aha! My problem was solved...but a few days later the same problem started occuring again. I opened the phone again to secure the connector, but that didn't work like before.

Even worse, the screen recently went black. The phone worked normally...I could call people, listen to music, etc., but nothing shows up on the screen.

I looked through threads w/ problems similar to mine and I decided to reflash my main & fs to the original AT&T firmware. However the screen is still messed up.

What could be wrong w/ my phone? Should I restore the gdfs or something? Is the problem software related or is my lcd broken(which I doubt)?

    Thanks in advance.

You can try it, but I don't think that it will help...

If you reflashed the phone completely(MAIN, FS, custom pack), and didn't solved the problem then probably it is a hardware problem. It can be the damaged LCD or maybe there is a contact error near the screen connector on main board. If you have another LCD screen try that or take it to a service center.

I've had the phone for less than 365 days, which means I'm still eligible for AT&T's exchange by mail...phew.

simox: Yeah, I think it's a hardware problem as well. I'm not surprised though. The w580i feels cheap and one of the keys already cracked.
