    Question GDFS Backup!!

Can anyone clearly in layman's language tell me what is GDFS file?
How do you get to know that GDFS file is corrupted or is damaged?

If after flashing the phone is getting on, does it mean that GDFS is safe?

After flashing your phone to a new firmware does the GDFS file remains the same or it gets changed?

First of all read this: SonyEricsson Hardware and Firmware Definitions!
How do you get to know that GDFS file is corrupted or is damaged?
Well, there are several symptoms. For e.g. after flashed the phone and turned on it is stuck at please wait screen. And if you mod your phone, the first thing is to make a GDFS backup.
If after flashing the phone is getting on, does it mean that GDFS is safe?
In this case, most probably the GDFS is OK.
After flashing your phone to a new firmware does the GDFS file remains the same or it gets changed?
The GDFS will remain, because you flash the MAIN, FS and not the GDFS.

If it is so then why does GDFS get effected while flashing Main or FS? I mean sometimes it gets damged while flashing?

    Re: GDFS Backup!!

That is another story. Flashing tools access the GDFS too when flashing the phone, and if some things goes wrong then the GDFS can be damaged.

    Re: GDFS Backup!!

Connect your phone to xs++ and copy your phones log here without IMEI number and we will see.

If you want fix this, flash back with firmware for K790 ( full flash )

    Nice day

    Re: GDFS Backup!!

Are the FS,main and custom files region specific to operate or Language specific? Why do most of the phones show 'No Network coverage or Inactive sim ' after flashing. Is that anyhow something to do with these files????
