    Changing language on 580i: have i got it right

    I have now read a lot of threads here and are more than a little bit confused, but i think i will give it a try.

    To change the language of my unbranded phone is this correct?

    1: reflash the FS that corresponds with the MAIN-firmware already in the phone into the correct region for the language i want
    2: apply the custpack tha corresponds to the new FS

    and then am i done? or do i have to apply a new MAIN-firmware also?

    If there exist New firmware version(except CID53) than just do full flash . So with 1 hit you get new firmware and new language

    I have just flashed entirely my W580i.
    First of all you have to check if you have a CID 52 or 53.
    In case you have CID52 you can use GS++ (very easy). If you have CID53 you have to use FAR Manager with Jdflasher plugin (a bit more fishy, but still doable).

    When choosing an FS, make sure you choose the same EROM Colour and ID (so for Example RED-53) of your main file.

    Ok. I am fairly certain that the phone is CID53(it is not infact my phone but my girlfriends so i cant check ATM)

    So i just have to flash the FS and then the custpack?

    Is there a specific custpack for each version of the FS or are they universial?

    First of all connect your phone with XS++ and post log here(just check CID).
    Custpack don't depend on CID but depend on FS (if FS is EUROPE 1 , than look for custpack
    EUROPE 1 ).Like others said be carefully with MAIN - FS MUST be same version

    Re: Changing language on 580i: have i got it right

    Here is a example:

    Firmware has two parts:
    1. FS: It contains languages, images, sounds, animations, settings, etc. Anything that isn't pure software.
    2. Main: It contains the software.

    Note: MAIN and FS HAVE to be the same software version
    MAIN R1BC002
    FS R1BC002
    Customization has to be same region as FS, in this case
    FS = EU5 (EUROPE_5)
    Customization =CDA102338/50 ( EUROPE_5 Sunrise Switzerland)

    Nice day
