can some one please help us,i need to take it from the start,do i need to use phone xs instead of setool , my daughter daughtes phone is bricked,we are a bit thick ,we have tried the guides but do not understand some of it,thanks

Try to power on the phone. Do you see any red light blinking near power on button(or infra port)? If yes then follow the REPAIRING EROM GUIDES for most sonyericsson phones.

Did you made a GDFS backup before any flashing/patching attempt? If yes, restore that. Otherwise follow the link given by seamonkey.

Then download the W850_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_CY_RED52 MAIN firmware(you can search for it using some search engine too), and flash it. You need this file to be able to unlock your phone too. Now try to turn on the phone. And tell us the result.

If everything is OK, you can unlock your phone by phone following the guide in first post of Remove SIM-lock patch generator thread(link in my signature).

now thats what i call a helpful answer to my plight, thank you i have managed to reflash it , i will post a fresh identify and then you can take a look at the log, , as soon as i have recharged the battery, thank you from me and my daughter

we dont understand part 2 when it says put the main file(mbn) what is this file, then it says put it into the main setool folder, help we are trying to fight our way through this guide,its not the guide its us ,thanks

I will try explain to you: in SETool2 Lite v1.11 folder there is a qamaker folder. In qamaker folder there is a qamaker.exe. So open Windows Explorer, and go to this qamaker folder. Also copy the MAIN firmware to qamaker folder(in your case the MAIN firmware is the W850_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_CY_RED52.mbn file). Now drag(Windows drag and drop operation) the W850_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_CY_RED52.mbn file to qamaker.exe A command prompt appear, and in a couple of seconds you get the quick access patch(quick_access_W850_R1KG001.vkp).
