    Re: Some Basic Questions (K800i)

That is still the Sony Ericsson firmwire, debranding is simply removing your service providers logo of the phone and replacing it with Sony Ericsson original firmwire.

What that person has done is created/downloaded a theme someone has made and flashed a new menu onto the phone.

    Re: Some Basic Questions (K800i)

Ah, ok. I thought that it is possible to replace the whole firmware. But ok. If the changes to the phone are only theme based, this will lower my risk to brick my phone (i hope ;) ).

Do themes slow down the phone, or can you replace the std. theme in a way that the new one works as fast as the original?

And, does anyone know where to get that theme?

the OS of the phone is indeed untouched. only the icons are changed and some other files.

a debranded phone works as good (if not BETTER) then a branded phone

i don't know what you are talking about on the joystick. i had a K750 and i know have a k800 and i didn't had any problems with the joysticks. just be carefull and clean them sometimes

to do all that with your phone you will need FAR manager of XS++ (only for CID52 or lower)
