is flashing Main & FS faster than finalizing

i want to know whether the process of flashing the Main&FS is faster than finalizing the phone later on,if so why ?

my friend, if you don't finalize your phone it won't start... Finalizing means flashing the MAIN. this how my W810i CID 49 RED works!

hes right, you have to finalise, other wise you get an error message when you start your phone

i know about flashing Main and FS, but what i wanted to know was why finalizing takes 5hrs on cid49 phones

i hope u guys get this finalizing is adding custom files to phone CDA10.......

umm i dont think i finalized what i did to my k750 was just flash the main to add the walkman and that was it walkman works and everything seems ok,

what i would like to know is that why would one flash the filesystem if u just want the walkman on the k750

Finalization takes so long coz it does BRUTE FORCE. Brute force is process of trying to find the password/code by trying all possible combinations. It can take many hours. You can use FAR MANAGER and try not to use brute force and save your time. I don't know if this can work for your phone. MAIN and FS are just copied to the phone... No brute force used here.

I use Phone XS to upload FS then FAR to finalize phone and then upload MAIN with XS++. :-D

There are three ways I know:

1) Using only Phone XS or XS++ - This means this programs to do all of the three: upload MAIN and FS and do a "brute force" to set customization.

This one doesn't work for my K310. Neither XS++ nor Phone XS.
2) Using only FAR Manager with SEFP (Sony Ericsson Flash Plugin) - you need to upload special MAIN (which is called 'breaking') which allows FAR to intrude your phone without "brute force".

This one works only partially for me. I cannot access FLASH, only FS.

3) Using WHAT-IS-POSSIBLE :D
I do this this way:
- first upload FS with Phone XS v2
- make a customization with FAR (First you need 'breaking' MAIN for this of course)
- upload MAIN with either XS++ or Phone XS (I used XS++)
- enjoy your new firmware and thank all TopSony users :D
