the xs++ asks if i want to upgrade from CID49 or 51, should i go for it? I have a K800i.

Yes ,this is needed if you want unlock your phone so just let XS++ to upgrade your phone to CID52

There's no problem with DB2020 CID52; you can unlock it for free as well. The trouble begins when you get CID53.

The CID is the security degree of the phone to be tampered with any software...
In DB2020 (your case) only CID 52 can be unlocked for free...
Never upgrade to CID 53..
Cid cannot be downgraded never....
