hook up to se tools lite without sim, install usb flash drivers. Turn phone off, hold c and insert dc60 usb cable. Got to identify.

    Post the log back here

    hi lavondys,

i did what you said, but:

    1. se tool lite doesn't connect to my phone (the phone isn't even found by windows hardware manager...)
    2. the update service from se tells me to plugin the loading station...
i don't have one, just the cable (if it is the dc60 i can't tell, it's a non se product)...

the cable itself is detected as a prolific serial to usb connection...

when i plug in the cable to the phone (and pressing the "c" button), the phone switches on...
    no identification by windows
    nor by se tools lite...

    it's frustrating....

    greetings

    Re: K700i

    hi seamonkey,

this is what xs++ is telling me....

    12:22:43| XS++ v3.1 (Darwin) Ready !
12:22:43| Executed on Microsoft Windows XP
    12:24:05|
12:24:05| Attempting to open the interface...
    12:24:05|
    12:24:05| TURN OFF PHONE!
12:24:05| Hold 'C' button on phone and connect phone NOW.
    12:24:05| You have 30 seconds...
    12:24:05|
12:24:35| Error: Cannot open phone communication port
    12:24:37| Disconnected... Unplug the phone

i connect my k700i with a non-se cable (it is a prolific usb to serial or otherwise) and opens a com-port (COM6)...

    greetings

Just connect phone with SE usb cable (I think k700 use DCU-60),and don't use any port

    hi harper1988,

    i did so several times...

i think it is the non-se datacable which doesn't connect the phone with my pc...

so i wait for the original one and try it with this...

    Re: K700i

That happened to me also. The cannot open phone communication port. But re-inserting the battery did the trick for me. Hope all goes well with your new cable.
