    Water Damage

A few months ago my W810i fell in the water. When I got it out,, it wouldn't start.

When I got home I used a hairdryer to get the water out of the phone. After that I tried to start it, it worked, but most of my keys weren't working or were working wrong. I lay it to dry out for a couple of days and tried again. Everything worked except for the three button (and that is VERY irritating). Some buttons don't have their full function back and sometimes my screen flips out.

My question is: What is the best way to make your phone work as best as possible again when it fell in the water?

The best way is to disassemble it, until you get the naked board (without display, microphone, loudspeaker, kamera module...) and to put the Board for about 24 hours in isopropyl alcohol (you get it in a pharmacy). Then it should get completely dry (about 1 day at a warm place), and if you have luck, it would work good. The problem is: the conductors will go on corroding and will be in some time broken. You can slow down this process, but you can not stop it.

Find under keyboard buttons under a plastic film. Accurate lift this film and clean contacts(use alcohol). Should work...

I agree with n_320...and the next time you drop you fone by accident...turn it off as fast as you can...let it get dry for a good time...and then take it to an expert to dismantle it and clean the remaining stains of water...it should work fine now....however...some fones don't have the same luck. Good luck with your fone!
