    Angry k800i water damage

    Hi All

I came upto the loft this morning to find my wifes k800i quite nicely submerged in the dogs water bowl!! IT was presumably on when it fell in but i can guarantee that when it came out it wasnt!!!!

Anyway i dried everything out and reassembed the unit. Everything was together and i inserted the battery, nothing? SO i connected the power lead and well, the FLASH went off!! Then the screen came on and then nothing but the redlight on the side panel was on.SO i changed the battery, nothing so i plugged it in to the mains and the flash went off again but the screen flashed 3 times then went off leaving the red light on again.

I changed the battery housing for a spare and inserted the battery, the flash didnt go off but the screen flashed once then went off leaving the red light to blink once then go on continuous? I changed the LCD screen same. However when i powered on at the top it came onto a white screen, vibrated then went off.

So it works with mains power but not with the battery, when the original rear housing is in situ the flash goes off when the mains power is turned on, the screen comes on but the main board doesnt boot.

Do you recon flashing is the option or do you recon its fooked??

    Any Ideas

Had the same case about 1 year ago... I dried it for 2 weeks, bought a new display, and everything looked good, until i tried to upload the fw to the phone: then every time at 68%, it stopped. It doesn't work since then. So i think it's quite dead. Sotty. :-(

A friend of me had the same problem with a W810. And his phone was dead, so I guess yours is dead too.
Maybe it would work if it wasn't on when it fell in the water, but so i don't think you have a chance. Sorry

WELL I DID A STUPID THING TODAY!! or a good thing?

I used SEUS to update the phone as i didnt have anything to loose. Now its updated to CID53 with France as its a trade unlocked phone. Now rather than returning to a red light it flashes the white screen of death!!

Ive managed to back up the GDFS !! So what do you recon about a total firmware reset?? Think it might work??

Also now i have another problem as to where do i get CID53 france frimware!!

    Before flashing...
Disasemble phone, wash in ultrasonic cleaner (in isopropilen) after clean and dry it with brush, then rehot. Of course check for dirt and short circuits by microscope. If PCB is not clear like a new do it all again.
Must be cleaned every dirt under every BGA IC and other parts.

After that if phone dont work try flash it.
Flashing before all is big mistake becouse is possible that are short circuits on board under elements.
    Try again.

    Hi
Your problem is not software .. its purely hardware ..
Disassemble your phone again and carefull check every connector from water damage and clean it .. You can use microscoope and I am sure that you will fnd many places that has water effect and oxide ..
