    Question SE Z710i firmware upgrade

    Hi,
I just recently got myself a SE z710i. i was reading around the web people are cross-flashing to the w710. is there any advantages to doing so? does it make the phone run better does it add any feature not available with z710i firmware?

The different between this 2 mobiles is in software. If you uppgrade your z710 to W710i, Then you have a Walkman-mobile.

I've recently bought a Z710i too having seen the following vid on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OP_Noi-NBs. Have flashed it using W710i Firmware and it does give you rather nice flash menu's which seems to be the only good advantage to it. One major down point is that the Radio icon is replaced by a rather useless Pedometer icon (Z710i does not have required hardware for this) which means the Radio can no longer be used!

Am considereing flashing back to Z710i firmware and finding some way to install the flash menu's onto the file system but as far as I can tell it's not possible (yet ... i hope) on DB2020 phones

Can anyone shed any light on this??

radio is still there.. i even tried it before.. it's under 'entertainment' now..

also, more flash themes can definitely be installed.. i've got quite a number of them on my hybrid Z/W710.. it's not as easy as just uploading the .thm file... the .swf file has to be uploaded into the FS and bruteforcing is needed or use the hack for bypassing bruteforcing.

Cheers for the uber-quick reply alphatag.

I managed to copy .swf files to my w810i and they work an absolute charm. I did this using the break-in loader work around from http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?s...810+flash+menu.

I imagine the method used on the Z710i is the same but where do I find the break-in loader file specific for this phone??

    What method did you use??

no break-in loader for Z/W710 as it's 2020 :( so bruteforce or use this:

I'm trying to load the .swf files to my Z710 (with W710 fw CID49 DB2020) by bruteforce but it's just continually prints ...

"hh.mm.ss|Try #nnnnnnn and counting" and does nothing else!

The files are in "\XS++\files_to_upload\tpa\preset\system\desktop\f lash" which to my knowledge is correct. Any pointers would be much appreciated.:D

Is that true? I'm rather fond of the radio.
