    New Firmware for W580, R8BE001

A new firmware has been released by Sony Ericsson. I randomly decided to go to the Wotan page and randomly found this: R8BE001. R8BE001 are Generic firmwares.

I would love to test it on my phone, but sadly I don't have Wotan, and I don't have my W580. The phone's in for service because of the cracking keypad.

I hope they fix the light bug!!! If they don't, I might lose my mind! How does TopSony get the firmwares anyways?

EDIT: Geokilla, I don't think SE releases update notes, so I think we'll just have to play around with it :(

Ok I just flashed to R8BE001 and the stupid light effects bug is NOT fixed in ANY way!!!! SE!!!

EDIT: Confused. When I check the firmware on the phone it says R8BE001 but the CDA still says something about R8BA024. XS++ shows my phone's firmware as R8BA024 still???? I don't get it

I also deleted the walkman theme....still the green lights show up. What file controls the light effects when you use the walkman player?

Try flashing it again with the R8BE001 firmware.

As for the green lights bug, try exiting the Walkman by pressing back instead of the W button. Some people are saying that by doing that, the light changes back to whatever color the theme uses.

Well - I only flashed the MAIN - and it most certainly is NOT fixed - even when using back key. It is of course possible that the fix is in the FS, but I only found AMERICA_2 FS - still searching for _1 ...
