z610i dead - white screen - basic question

Hi, I found this forum by chance (thanks) and it seems to refer to the problem that my daughter is having with her phone - z610i - in that it boots with a white screen, vibrates twice but nothing else.

I know there are guides on here but please can someone point me to exactly the right one so I don't get this wrong, and down to basics please i.e. is it done with standard usb to sony cable, what software... a total idiots guide would be great.

try to flash it with firmware then it should be working again!

right, i go this far... did the gdfs bit, backed that up, wrote it back
got firmware, started to flash
second file stopped at 405 of 455 blocks
after that I cannot get the phone to talk to the software at all.... I cannot attempt to write gdfs or firmware again
what next?

wrong MAIN version. back up gdfs, reflash with original software (same MAIN and FS version), or send it to service. they will know exactly what to do ;)

i've managed from time to time to get the phone to respond to the software...... will do identify / gdfs etc but then will sometimes not respond to the 'press c and insert' bit or mostly will stop during flash process - not always at the same block. Eventually VERIFY BLOCK ERROR will come up.

There are two flash files.... one is 113 blocks one is 455. BOTH have been written successfuly but not together! I.e. if it starts with 455 file, it mostly writes OK then stops during the 113 file... or vice-versa, if starts with 113 file successfully it will stop in 455.

Please lets us know what flash files you are using.

Both Main and FS have to match.

i've since tried the XS+ method, and have accepted the message to update erom to CID52. I am trying to use these 2 files : Z610_R1ED001_FS_TELEF_GEN_RED52.fbn and Z610_R1ED001_MAIN_GENERIC_MY_RED52.mbn but still no luck.

You have to explain more so we can help. SO far we can only guess and that isnt a good thing as we can only assume.

Please copy the log or post an explanation as to what has gone wrong.

I should have explained that I'm still in same situation as described earlier in the post, I tried XS+ (my flash files are correct?) but when its trying to flash it stops at random points, different blocks each time, it never completes. Just like sectool did.

As yet, I have not yet managed to get both files to flash at the same time.
