K618i.....looks dead to me...anyone else think the same?

Greetings all:

A friend gave me his K618i for repairs and after looking at it for a few minutes I'm about to conclude that it took a swam somewhere and should be considered an unrepairable brick.

For starters, I think the battery already looks like it doesn't work.


Then the phone itself appears to have a corroded battery contact (it's circled in the images) and I also have an arrow pointing to what appears to be a watermark and it's bright read so that leads me to believe the phone took a vacation and went swimming.


Safe to call this phone a beautiful paperweight?

The water detection sticker on the top of the battery certainly isn't white any more which leads me to believe the phone has been exposed to water.

If you can find out how long ago the phone was exposed to water and you find it was not too long ago it may be worth taking apart the phone and cleaning with some form of contact cleaner such as wd40 to draw out the water then try turning in on.

A possible re-flash and battery replacement may also help, although if this doesn't you will probably be left with a water damaged brick.

I think my buddy told me it had been sitting in "flood water" for a week since a while back our town got severely flooded.

Yeah I kinda figured that thing is probably dead but yeah I just wanted to make sure and have the people here verify it in case there's a slight chance of revival and I shouldn't be kicking it around the floor but I have asked a few others before coming here and we were concluding that this can be a soccer ball to be kicked around ;) **laffs**
