Unlocking W200i?

hey guys,
My first post here so i hope it aint a stupid question. I just bought myself a w200i on vodafone and i want to be able to use the phone on 02. I could go to a shop and pay to get it unlocked or ring up vodafone or pay but i wanted to know if possible, how i could do it myself... Also when i eventually do get it unlocked i want to know if there is a way i could change the screen and screensaver etc... to 02 or just plain sonyericsson rather than always saying vodafone...thanks in advance...

first connect to SEUS, BUT DON'T UPGRADE FIRMWARE, then connect your phone to SeTool Lite or XS++ and Identify, see if it is CID 52, if it is CID 53 then you can't do anything yet, read in tutorials how to identify, if it is CID 52 then I think it can be unlocked by patch, not sure.

but w200i has db2012 so you can't do anythink(free)... no matter which CID is in your phone:(

DOWNLOAD THis VIDEO tutorial on HOW TO UNLOCK W200i . and what software you need to unlock w200i...and for changing the the sreen and screensaver..yes you can. just flash your phone using se tools...

thanks for the help guys and that vid is really helpful but before i try to unlock the phone i already upgraded the firmware to the latest to get rid of the vodafone thingie... will that affect me being able to unlock it?

if your CID was upgraded to 53 then you can't even flash it, if you can't flash it then you can't do anything to it. check your CID

okay i'll have a look... can someone tell me what software is used in the tutorial because it looks like setools except mine just has a sony ericsson tab and that has a settings tab etc...

damn.... I used the sony ericsson update tool after unbranding my phone and it now has cid 53... I've seen around the web and this site that it hasn't been cracked yet so am i right in thinking the only way i can unlock it at the moment is by paying...

bad luck, although I said in my first response to you not to upgrade in any circumstance, you only had to connect to SEUS to install the flash drivers only. now you eighter pay to unlock it, and I guess it is expensive cuz CID 53 is bit hard to work with, or you wait for a couple of months until CID53 will be cracked and XS++ 3.2 will be avaible and patching will be posible for CID 53. for now these are your options, in case I'm wrong maybe someone will correct me. Sorry mate!

I kinda got impatient before your response...damn....never mind...I'll find out how much it would cost to unlock otherwise i guess i'll be using vodafone for a while :( ...One last question though... If i caled vodafone and paid the 20 quid or whatever they charge for the unlock code would it still work now that the phones been flashed and the firmware upgraded?... thanks for all your help by the way guys...
