I'm confused. (Doesn't take much ...!)

Is flashing the same thing as unlocking? And if not, how can you unlock a K800i CID 53 using JDFlasher / FAR Manager?

I seem to have successfully managed to flash three separate things (for want of a better word - what are these 'things' called anyway...?):

1. K800_R8BF003_FS_EUROPE_5_RED53.fbn

2. K800_R8BF003_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED53.mbn

3. and a custom pack consisting of:
CONTENT_DOWNLOAD_HOOK.itm
Customize.xml
FM_PICTURES_HOOK_3.itm
FM_SOUNDS_HOOK_3.itm
FM_THEMES_HOOK_3.itm
FM_VIDEOS_HOOK_3.itm
GAMES_HOOK_3.itm
MEDIA_PLAYER_HOOK_3.itm
ORG_APPLICATIONS_HOOK_3.itm
preloaded_config.xml
SETT_RINGTONE_HOOK_1.itm
SETT_SCREENSAVER_HOOK_1.itm
SETT_STARTSHOW_HOOK_1.itm
SETT_WALLPAPER_HOOK_1.itm
VIDEO_PLAYER_HOOK_1.itm

...and the phone APPEARS to have now been debranded. But it's still locked. And pressing the joy stick produces the error "Errors occur in the menu.ml file. This may render the menu unusable"

So how can I unlock the phone and fix the menu.ml error?

Any ideas anyone?

Errors occur in the menu.ml file is becuse u havent flashed matching main and fs files to it and i dont think u can free unlocking on cid 53 phone but wait for other answer 1st

The Main and FS files were
1. K800_R8BF003_FS_EUROPE_5_RED53.fbn
2. K800_R8BF003_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED53.mbn

I thought the R8BF003 bit on both files meant that they DID match. How do I know whether the files match or not (and more to the point, how can I find matching files in the first place)

..but I'm a total beginner at this and only found this by trial and error. Can you, perhaps, direct me to a generic custom pack for my phone? At least that way I know I've got the right files to start with.

I've just realised that my phone reports itself as firmware R1KG001 so presumably I need the files with that number on it. ie:

K800_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_1_RED53
(or K800_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED53 - which is correct for me?)
and
K800_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED5

...as I'm in the UK.

Not sure what the

and
K800_R1KG001_MAIN_HUTCHISON_WI_RED53

...files are but don't think I need them.

So I'm attempting to download the:

..files you mentioned and will see what I can achieve with them.

Frustratingly, TopSony is now reporting that I've used up my quota of downloads so I can't get the files yet!

Hopefully it will allow me to try again tomorrow.
