    W910 "Inactive Simcard"

I just got a W910 which had an Orange signed firmware.

I flashed the phone with a nordic firmware, but now I get an error message saying "inactive simcard" (it's in norwegian, so I don't know what the similar message is in english). The phone starts up normally, so it's not a simlock.

So why do I get this message? Has orange put some kind of extra security in the phone, so that it wont read other simcards?

I think it's called "sim regristration failed" in english

    Damn.

I've been reading a little on the net, and I've found out that the phone is propably stolen.
This sucks. I paid 93£ for it.

I know it's propably not legal, but does anyone know if it is possible to change the imei for it, or know of a place where I can get information on how to do it?

    Thanks for the reply.
    But will this work with a w910 since it's a db3150 phone?

Dear Friend by Flashing any phones firmware you can't unlock it only it can debrand it.
If you want to unlock it you have to creat unlock patch with vkp patch generater then apply with setool 2 by writing script.

If you have any prob. Let me know we together sort it out.

I'm not trying to unlock it. I'm trying to find a way to get the phone unblocked from the network.

This phone can't be unlocked with a vkp patch because it's a DB3150 phone.

semctool won't work. it's DB3150, neither patching. maybe if you had a box or a friend with a box you would be able to change it. no sense going to service centres because they won't do it because it's illegal.

    That's what I thought.
I've just ordered a SeTool3 box, so I'll just wait and see. I've been thinking about buying one for some time, so now I just decided to buy one.

But if it was locked, shouldn't I've been unable to access the phone at all then. I mean shouldn't I get the "please insert correct sim" in the startup menu?

if you can access to the menu, TRY THIS.. it happened to me once..

IN SETTING, NETWORK, SEARCH FOR NEW NETWORKS, LEAVE IT A WHILE even if it doesnt recognize no one, then theres an option about how to select them, its in AUTOMATIC, put it in MANUAL, then in the BAND put whichever its not selected, then put it back where it was.. at this point in the network list select your current network, then SEARCH FOR NETWORK AGAIN AND IN A WHILE it will come up your network. DONT FORGET TO PUT IT BACK ON AUTOMATIC since u gonna select the network by ur own..

IF YOU CANT ACCESS TO THE MENU, IT COULD BE LACK OF CDA....
