w810 add or use mp3 as ringtone

hey guys i have a w810 an 4 some reason i cant use or add mp3 as ringtone the phone is unlock can any 1 tell me what to do to fix this problem

is the phone branded by an operator? some branded phones will not allow non DRM mp3's to play

Right! I also have a K750i (T-Mobile) and couldn't set a *.mp3 as a ringtone or message tone.
Can I flash a firmware or do something or it's fix by the manuafacture?

yes get generic firmware and flash the phone

or change relevant statement in customize.xml

but if you do that, upload it as customize_upgrade.xml so it would replace whatever is in the customize.xml automatically.

Wouldnt it just overwrite wahtever is in the customize.xml anyway??

I thought you would only have to use customize_upgrade.xml if the only thing you wrote in your new .xml file was <enable-ringtoneplayer-mp3>true</enable-ringtoneplayer-mp3>

yeah he just wants to play mp3 tones as a rigntone. but if you completely flash it you also get rid of those ugly operator branded icons
