    k810i - problem with fonts

    Hi all,
After downloading a couple of Java games for my k810i, the phone hasn't been functioning properly. Some of the screens are lagging, the phone sometiems freezes completely, the calendar isn't displaying properly and the fonts in the dictionary are incomplete. What should I do ?

After reading some threads it seems like XS++ 3.1 is the tool that I should be using. Seems like there is an issue with using SEUS, and I believe my files need to be the same version number. Are there any other things I should be aware of before I flash my phone ?

The sony customer service people were completely useless. I have no warranty as the phone was purchased in Singapore - I am in Sydney.

    Regards,
    b80ven

You speak English very well,so I decided to help you:p
Well, yes,I recommend you use XS++...It is very fast and convenient...Anyway,DO NOT UPGRADE with SEUS...You won't be able to do anything...Firmwares,as you said, must have the same "number" let's say...
Search and learn...For the time being,I can only tell you that flashing your phone with a new firmware,is only the beginning...;););)

You Dont Need But You Can Change Camdriver, DispDriver, Acoustics, Apply vkp Patches And A Lot More. But Only After Support For CID53 Is Available:D.

He means that first you have to do a full reflash of the phone. Kinda like formating and reinstalling windows. After that you can modify your phone, or install whatever games you'd like, and so on.

The first thing you need to do is to download XS++3.1. You'll find many links for it on this site. Than you'll need to download a Firmware, File System, and a Custom Pack (CDA).

You'll find everything you need in the download section, and you'll find a tutorial under the "Phone XS / XC / XS++ / GFlash" section of this forum.

Remember before you do ANYTHING, backup your GDFS with XS++, and don't upgrade your phones eerom or use SEUS, as it will convert it to a CID53, making it unable to patch or install a new firmware without having to pay for it.

Thank you very much ! Much appreciated.

OK, I just realised that I need to be a registered member for 2 months so I cannot actually download any files until then, and after posting 20 messages...

I have found the right firmware and the right custom pack to suit my phone and region. With the file system, It looks like there is on support on this site for the k810 - is that right ? The GDFS sections (bin / gdf / sbn) does not include any files for the k810. Do I need to upgrade the file system ?

I'll have to research the 'megabass' pack to see if it actually is worth trying to put onto the k810: the speaker isn't the best.
