Question did I kill my GDFS?

hi. noob here. thanks for whatever help anyone gives

Had a black SE W580i from AT&T for two weeks - debranded a couple of days ago using SETOOL2LITE and the following files:
    - W580_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52.mbn
    - W580_R8BA024_FS_C_ASIA_RED52.fbn
    - W580_CDA102568_7_R8A_GENERIC_C_ASIA

went off without a hitch :) (so I thought); phone works fine. did not back up GDFS beforehand.

Wanted to put Flash menus in, downloaded XS++ and necessary data.
started trying to, and ran into some problems... says phone not supported... thought I would back up GDFS at this point, and it won't do it with either tool.

before any of this, had already installed on PC Sony Ericsson suite (to back up address book) and Update Manager

    here's the million-dollar question:
do I leave the phone alone because it works and it's unbranded, or do I keep messing with it to get it the way that I would like?

If I keep messing, where do I begin, and with what tool?

again, thanks for any help offered.

    here are my logs:

Man, you didn't kill your GDFS. But you have other big problem, your CID is 53 now. And you can not use any tool yet.

Re: did I kill my GDFS?

you can use only farmanager + jdflasher, it has support to CID53 to explore the FS, but you cant flash because rightnow is not available firmwares for CID53.

well for now you can't mess with it, enjoy it and wait until the next XS++ will come out, it will have support for CID 53, and you should have never used the update manager. thats the reason you can't do anything to your phone.

Lightbulb Re: did I kill my GDFS?

    AHA!!!!!!!!!!! :o
Good to know it's not f*ed :), bummer I can't get any farther with it :(.

So with CID 53, I'm stuck (for now) - there's no way to downgrade to CID 52/51?

when/where will we find the new version of XS++? is this the official place: XS++ v3.1 (darwin) - SE-NSE Forums

on another note, the phone is only two weeks old - is there a chance I can fry it somehow and get a replacement to start over? is there a glitch or error I can cause that won't alert them to void my warrantee? I know it's not the most moral approach, but with what I've paid my service provider over the years, it's not like they're losing money on me... :p

well thank you all for your help. boo to my rookie mistake.

man. listen to everyone says, DON'T USE UPDATE MANAGER! beside upgrading your firmware , if there is avaible a new CID it will upgrade that too, and beside all this it might brick your phone too, it's not a foolproof program. DO NOT USE IT!
