please help complete noob needs help

Hi folks I need help I have just moved from Wales to Australia and I now need to unlock my Sony erricson k810i which is locked to Orange.
I havent got a clue were to start in this endevour I have the drivers and the usb cable. I really dont know where to start or what to download or were to download any of it from. If there is any one here who can give me a step by step guide I would be very grateful.

senter is rite but for noobs i strongly recommend XS++ 3.1 darwin... because its real easy to use and operate.main in main box. fs in fs box. scroll to the cda that matches the fs and then ... flash . presto... hav a nice day..

I've also got a W810 on Orange and i'd like to unlock it but keep the original Orange firmware. I don't want to debrand it.

My phone is R4ED001 and i've downloaded a vkp file for R4DB005 and a vkp file for R4EA031(i can't find one for R4ED001), will either of these be ok to sim unlock it if i just use it with setool2lite ..."MISC" files ... select vkp and "write script" or are these files incompatable with mine and do i have to do some other flashing prior to this ?

you need a vkp that's specifically for your firmware version, or you risk turning your phone into a brick.

Also I believe customized MAIN firmware cannot be patched.

Hi, I'm a bit of a noon too, however having been around the block a dozen times over the past 6 hours, I'd like to ask for some help...

Initially I used setool lite, got the generic fw files for my phone and the plain custom package. Flashed away, no errors at all.

Result : Phone still locked.

I then went back to the Orange version of everything, result (obviously) still locked.

However I then created a VKP with the Orange Main file (for my FW version) applied it, everything seemed to apply fine, yet the phone is still network locked to Orange (UK).

I then tried loading it into XS++ as recommended by hito17 above, the step that throws me, he said match the CDA of your phone and off you go.

As you can see my CDA ends with /51 none of the options in XS++ have /51 at the end of it.

My questions are this...

1. Is the /51 important or can I use any any of the different ones.

2. Why when I try using setool lite, and clicking on Unlock as it seems to say everywhere does it NOT work ? (below is the output I get when I click unlock)

After debranding it, you still gotta unlock it.. according to your log you didnt unlock it

That's my point, I clicked unlock, and that is what happens?!?!
