[S500i] Why can I filter my contacts by group?

Since I upgraded my mobile phone to the Sony Ericsson S500i (the last one was a Samsung ZV10) that I'm missing lots of simple features. Yes, the S500 has cool new features that I didn't have before, but I'm missing some others...

For instance, one of them is the group filter. In the ZV10, when I'm listing all my contacts I could simply select a group and show all the contacts inside that group. Basically, filtering by group the contacts inside a specific group.

How can I do that on the S500i? Is it even possible?
