    Texting Problems?

After I debranded my phone, i found i was unable to text on my phone. I have a family plan that includes this feature, but it did, in fact, stop working after i debranded my phone. is this an average problem?

    Re: Texting Problems?

What phone are you using? And what files did you flash on it.

Here's the step I would take to troubleshoot the problem.
-If you are texting MMS, you should double check your MMS settings from your carrier.
-If the above doesn't work, I would remove battery, reinsert, and reboot the phone.
-If all else fails, do a reflash of main, fs, and custom. Make sure you are using the right ones though.

I haven't actually had the chance to flash my phone yet, but from what I understand, you have to go to:

    http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/products/

enter your phone and then get the MMS and Internet settings for your phone & carrier.

    I hope this helps.

    Re: Texting Problems?

also, because my phone is flashed with sony's generic software, i cannot contact my provider (flashing voids your warranty).

(p.s. my phone is CID53, so i cannot download AT&T firmware back on my phone.)

    Re: Texting Problems?

one more note; a thread on AT&T wireless posts that the service centre number should be +13123149810. is it the same on all phones? mine already had this on, but i still am unable to send or recieve any type of message.

    Re: Texting Problems?

    Phone_Zero,

    That number should be correct.

Here's another area that you should check.

    Main Menu->Settings->Connectivity->Data Comm->SMS Access
Make sure that it is set to circuit switched.

If that doesn't work, try a Master Reset->Reset Settings.

If that doesn't do it and you say that the service center number in your text message settings is +13123149810, then I am out of ideas, but try calling customer support for help and to verify that the service center number is right because it may be different depending on your area too.

By the way, when you got your phone was it CID53? Or did you change it to CID53 during the debranding process?
