w580i memory card problems

Hi there! my w580 does not seem to read my memory card and everytime i turn on the phone it says format card and if i say yes it says formating failed!
It is not the card as i just bought a new one. will flashing my phone fix this, if so what files do i use as i live in South Africa and can i just flash the mian software? Any help wiil be much appreciated! thanks

backup up all your data to computer and format your m2 card and it will be ok, same thing was at me

hey i tried that but when i plug the phone in the comp and go to my computer to select the drive it says please insert disc so cant format it using the computer

i have the same problem with SE W610i. I am still trying to find the answer to the problem.

If you can get a hold of a card reader and a MS Pro Duo adapter. Try formatting it on a computer. Hope it works.

it happened many times that W580 destroy each SD-to me PC format didn't help and i guess that its HARDWARE fault

How many times did you reformat the card?

i have a similar problem but with my old phone, a nokia 6230 that uses an MMC card,
when i'll turn off the phone by removing the battery, removing the card and then put them all back together...the problems solved
try do somthing similar and leve the phone turned off for a while

Hi. Take the card back to the place you got it and ask them whats wrong with it.
