Add a new language?

i need a languages pack for my w580i so that my phone can read japanese words...can anybody upload me the file and tech me how to add it...plizzzz..i would really apreciate it...

There is no Japanese language file, since this phone is never meant for the Japanese market. You can *try* flashing with the FS for APAC region. That gives you simplified Chinese support, and maybe Japanese.

Failing that, I know for a fact that either the HongKong or Taiwan firmware works, but you would have to flash both MAIN and FS.

I'm not sure about the simplified Chinese support Japanese characters but I can confirm that HongKong/Taiwan firmwares will support all hiragana and katakana characters. You just have no way of inputing Japanese.

hm..but last time i'm using k800i..it can read and display japanese word..

Then I think your k800i may have already had some form of Chinese MAIN/FS installed unless you switched out the firmwares yourself to something that you like.

But the only Sony Ericsson phones that have ability to input Japanese natively is the SOxxxiS series from NTT DoCoMo or AU KDDI in Japan. Other than that you can only view Japanese characters while having chinese firmware and if you have something in japanese already you can copy and paste the words around.
