Newbie trying to flash W800i :)

This is my first post and first day with all these glossary, XS++, patches and Firmwares :)

This is what XS++ had to say about my phone. Before i get along experimenting ;) I need to know few things.

can i use FS other than APAC ?
Also the main I got is CHINA_CA RED 36 i suppose (not surei read something like this in software info on phone ) can i flash it with european or american ?
What does unlocking phone means ? My phone is unbranded.

Or is it that i have to get FS files and Main of APAC only for my phone ?

While searching on net i got Main and FS for APAC of R1BC002.
But not getting both for R1BD001 .. for which i may have to go for some other variants.

What u guys suggest ?

R1BC002 is very good. Flash your phone with that Firmware using XS++ 3.1

yep .. doing exactly the same but i m not sure which files to use :(
Will the patches for R1BD001 be applicable to R1BC002 ? I found some really interesting patches for R1BD001 in this forum.

I tried it. R1DB001 patches can't work on R1BC002.
Here are some patches for R1BC002:
iProTebe.cz - Sony Ericsson -> patch_files -> W800 R1BC002

Hmmm Thanks for that precious info. But that brings me back to my question....

While searching on net i got Main and FS for APAC of R1BC002.
But not getting both for R1BD001 .. for which means i may have to go for some other variants.

For example: Can i use
W800_R1BD001_FS_EMEA_1_RED36
W800_R1BD001_MAIN_EU_1_CA_RED36
W800_R1BZ001_FS_CS_RED36
for my phone. I have mentioned specifics in first post.

What do u guys suggest ?

you can either choose R1BD001 or R1BC002, whichever you choose you must use MAIN and FS from same firmware.I personally like R1BC002 since it has the mot available patches and all.flash using XS++ and dont forget to customize the phone.
btw, all FS have english so if you dont need any other language just use any FS.

From the same firmware as in from APAC ?
And what does Customization here means ? XS has default Customization Setting i guess :confused:

no from the same firmware as in R1BC002 and of the same category as APAC.
yes use the default customization settings , select the FS u use.

Ok. i have decided to go ahead with W800_R1BC002_FS_APAC and W800_R1BC002_MAIN_APAC. I guess thats the best option i have, right ?
Can u please refer me all the patches available for R1B002 ?

Post a flashing result when you flash your phone.

the files are fine, may i suggest one thing, if you dont need any other language except english use EMEA/EU firmware because they have the most available patches.
APAC patches are harder to find, nd it really doesnt matter excpt the language.

yay yay !! flashed my phone successfully. It was my first shot at flashing.

Now that i got R1BC002, what all interesting things can i do with my phone now ?
As in any intersting customization and patches?

That URL doedsnt work any more ? I m trying to get thru that URL since 4 days!! Its not opening for me infact nse forums main page also not opening T_T

Does anybody here has alternate resource for patches ofthe R1BC002 ?
