W880i blinking red when trying to power on, plug in charger etc..

Hi everybody :D
I bought a W880i 4 months ago which was locked to an operator, managed to remove the lock and use the phone successfully until yesterday.. when i swapped sim cards it wouldnt turn on anymore.. i read it might be the EROM that was corrupted? Tryed to hook it up to the computer via the DCU-60 usb.. but it just blinks red when i plug it in same as when i try powering it on.. SeTool can't find the phone.. nether XS++ wich shows a error.. (running vista..something about a dll file in xs++..)

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Ps. my battery works fine in my friends phone..

If the infrared led is blinking, probably the EROM of the phone is corrupt.

what do you mean the infrared? it's the Button C blinking red about 5-6 times? and nothing happens.. Tryed hooking it up to the computer but acts like it wasnt plugged in.. just blinks when i plug it in and no detection....

Oops... my bad! I forgot that W880 doesn't have infrared port.
But it's the same thing... if it's blinking red for 5 times, the EROM is corrupt. You have to repair the EROM. See the above link.
Make sure the battery is charged. You could charge it with another phone.

yeah i know.. but my phone will not be recognized in SeTool, XS++ etc...
Think i got myself a expensive block? :P

OK. So Your Phone Isnt Getting Detected By XS++. Use The Wotan Method At REPAIRING EROM GUIDES for most sonyericsson phones - Top Sony Forums. It Should Work.

Are You Pressing 2+5 Keys Together Before Connecting Cable.

2 + 5 is alternative way to connect your phone to the PC. After the EROM repair procedure you can connect your phone by holding the "C" button :)

Try The Last Thing. Connect Your Phone To SeTool Lite Pressing 2+5Keys Together And Post Your Log Here. Most Probably Your Phone Wont Get Recognised, (Thats What I Concluded From Previous Posts) Then You Need You Need To Take It To Service Center. I Dont Think Even Service Cable Would Solve Your Problem.

Aha.. Anyhoes.. a service cable.. Cruiser 5 in 1 a good alternative? i doesnt need the dongle right?
