Help! Bricked my w810i / Trouble Unlocking

Hi

When trying to unlock my W810i, I clicked read GDFS using SeTool 2 Lite. It didn't read the GDFS and now it is a brick, the following is the log.

Please can somebody help me

Try to flash your main with XS++. I think it will work again...

Thanks keloo05 that worked. I still wish to unlock the phone so where did I go wrong when trying to read the GFDS.

I unlock mine k750i by pach not by GFDS...
try to download patch simlock remover for your phone

Everytime I use a patch to remove the simlock the phone bricks and I have to flash the main. Am i doing something seriously wrong somewhere? The patch applies with no problems.

I've flashed with W810_R4DB005_MAIN_VODAFONE_HN_RED49.mbn
and W810_R4DB005_FS_EUROPE_1_RED49.fbn

and I'm using the SIMLockPatchGen_v2.1.

Any ideas anyone as this is driving me mad!

Please Tell Us The Steps You Are Following. However, It Looks Like You Have Problem Backing GDFS. You May Use XS++ To Backup Your GDFS And Then Use SeTool To Patch.

I've backed up my GDFS using XS++
Flashed the main using XS++ and the files listed in post 5
Created a patch using SIMLockPatchGen_v2.1.
Applied the patch with SEtool
Try the phone and nothing!

If you are using one of the ready made patches, you should try making your own with SimlockpatchGen and your phone main. I ran into similar problem with my W810 when using one those patches. I made my own and everything went Ok.

in xs++ are you using version 3.1 or 3.2 as 3.2 is a beta version and has been known to cause damage to phones, if you are, i recommend you get xs++ 3.1 and reflash main with that, then use setool lite to write your vkp patch to the phone (you need to apply the quick acsess patch before you can write patches, but after you have done that patches will take around 40 to 50 seconds if that to complete)

How to apply the patches to DB2020 CID52 phones Using SETool2 Lite:

Step 1:
IMPORTANT: First you need backup the GDFS. If something goes wrong you can unbrick you phone with this backup. Here is how to do:
Open SETool2 Lite v1.11.
1. Select your phone model.
2. Click on Read GDFS button.
3. Follow the instructions given by SETool2 Lite.
4. You will get a gdfs_yourIMEI.bin file in SETool2 Lite folder. Put it to a safe place.

Step 2:
Note: If You Have Already Applied Quick Patch Before, Skip To Step 3.
We will apply the quick access patch to phone. It is needed to be able to use the quick access method in future. Due to this great patch you can easily apply the further patches, just like to DB2010 CID 49 phones.
!!!YOU NEED TO DO THIS ONCE AND ONLY ONCE!!!

1. Select your phone model. (se tool lite)
2. In Windows Explorer drag the MAIN file (.mbn) onto SETool2 Lite v1.11 folder\qamaker\qamaker.exe. In the qamaker's folder you will get a quick_access_XXXX_XXXXXXX.vkp file.
3. Click on ... (three dots) button near MISC files box, and select the vkp file generated in step 2.
4. Tick Bypass DB2020 security checkbox.
5. Click on Add button and select the MAIN firmware file.
6. Press FLASH button.
7. Follow the instructions given by SETool2 Lite.
8. When a dialog pop-up, click "Yes" to remove the patch. Click "No" to add the patch. In this case click on "No" button.

At one moment you will belive that nothing happens and the status windows is not changing! DO NOT remove the CABLE! Wait until "ELAPSED x SECONDS" appears in status window.

This process will take some time, about 15-20 minutes or more...

Step 3:
Now you can apply the patches to unlock the phone:
1. Click on Clear button.
2. Select your phone model.
3. Tick Use "quick access" patch checkbox
4. Uncheck(remove the tick from) Bypass DB2020 security checkbox.
5. Click on ... (three dots) button near MISC files box, and select the vkp file.
6. Click Write SCRIPT button
7. Follow the instructions in left status window...
8. When a dialog pop-up, click "Yes" to remove the patch. Click "No" to add the patch. In this case click on "No" button.

Wait until "ELAPSED x SECONDS" appears in status window, and done. Your phone is patched.

You don't have the required rest file. So it is normal that your phone is bricked after applying the patch.
You need to download the R4DB005_CXC12 50320_VODAFONE_HN file from somewhere(check the Download Area maybe there it is).
Or you can make one with [SETool_folder]\make_rest\ssw2rest.exe. Copy the generated/downloaded rest file to rest folder. Reflash the MAIN firmware, and apply the unlock patch...

i am having the same problems. please help us! i have combed the forums and tutorials....

where do I get a ssw file to feed the ssw2rest.exe? is that all i need for the unlock patch to finally run all the way through?

The ssw file is your MAIN firmware(*.mbn file). You need this MAIN firmware: W810_R4DB005_MAIN_VODAFONE_HN_RED49. But you have it already, I think...
Copy it to [SETool_folder]\make_rest\ folder.
Now open an command prompt(Stat menu->Run type cmd and press OK).
In command prompt type:
cd\ <Enter>
cd "C:\Documents and Settings\Rich\Desktop\SeTool_2_Lite_1.11__with_vid eo_tutorials\setool2lite_db2020\make_rest\" <Enter>
ssw2rest.exe W810_R4DB005_MAIN_VODAFONE_HN_RED49.mbn 44140000 <Enter>

If everything goes well, in [SETool_folder]\make_rest\ folder you will get the R4DB005_CXC12 50320_VODAFONE_HN file. Copy it to [SETool_folder]\rest\ folder.

Edit: There are some rest files here: W810_RED49_rest. I haven't downloaded it so don't know if it contain the rest file what you need...

Thanks Simox, finally managed to unlock the phone. Just one more quick question if I apply any other patches will this affect the unlock patch I've applied?

You can apply other patches of course, they will not conflict with unlock patch...

have you tried downloading new firmware files...
