w580 questions
Hello everybody.
I am having some problems with my w580. First of all, when I copy music albums into the phone, some of this albums appear with the tracks order completely changed. For example, instead of listing the tracks 01.mp3, 02.mp3 and so on, they appear sometimes as 10, 09, 01, 02, 03, etc. This is really weird because I have all my tracks ID3 tagged and the name of the archive is always like this: Number of track Track. mp3.
Besides, I'd like to know if there is any way to change the colour of the lights. I don't mind about having green when I turn on the Walkman functions, but I'd like to have white or grey when I'm in the menu and such instead of the light-blue colour I have now. I tried changing this with the Themes Creator, but it didn't work out. When the phone is stand-by and I press a button the lights are white (such as I had chosen in the Themes Creator), but half a second later they become blue again.
Well, I hope everything it's clear (since I'm not English-talking) and thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about your track order question.
Regarding the lights question. Do you have a branded phone? In other words, have you flashed new firmware to your phone or altered any of the system files? If your phone is branded, the lights issue could be caused by it. Try re-applying the theme several times with the phone open and closed. I know it sounds stupid but I had issues with the lights when I had a branded AT&T phone.
Aside from that issue, many of the w580i firmwares suffer from a "light bug" which causes the lights to switch back to green after using the Walkman. It doesn't sound like you have this issue. If you do decide to de-brand, the older firmware R6BC002 does NOT have the bug while the newere firmwares, R8BA024 and R8BE001 do.
Good luck.
Oh, one more question for you. Are you using a flash theme?

ussally the lights on the walkman 580 go with the colour of the theme, go to the sony erricson website and download some flash themes, most of which contain custom icons with them, if that dosent do it for you i suggest you search for a patch for the light effects, hope this helped you......
and in the theme creator did you edit a theme or create a new one, because if you edited one then it is most likely the theme is telling the phone to use a blue light function....

The phone is branded (Movistar, a phone company in Spain), and it has R6BC002 because I didn't want to put the newest firmware (because of the green Walkman light problem).
The theme i'm using is WalkmanOrange1, which I think is flash, but I'm not sure. I edited it with Themes Creator, but I only changed the lights option, choosing white as the colour. It's weird it initially shows white light and then quickly becomes blue again.
In this review, they talk about the track-order question. I can't believe it didn't happen to more people:
Electronista | Review: Sony-Ericsson W580i Walkman phone (Rogers)
This is the paragraph where they describe the problem:
One glaring omission, however, may ruin the experience for those who like to listen for the entire stretch of an album. It's the track order. For some reason, the Walkman interface simply refuses to obey the track numbering in the ID3 tags of a given song and will list your songs only by their copy order. Not only does this jumble tracks and hurt albums with continuous mixes such as the Beatles' Abbey Road or DJ sets, but even Sony's own software won't do this properly with our existing catalog. The only solution was to manually drag files over a song at a time, which isn't really an effective solution for a phone that can potentially store hundreds of songs. While we didn't consider this fatal to our experience, it's frustrating to need this level of micro-management.
Thanks in advance.

Color is not something hardware change to your liking, but there are issues that they modify flash you could try that, and with respect to the tracks because of what is normal in the w580 makes me the same thing the w610
