V630i Unlocking with total multiserver

Hi

First of all, just joined - nice forum :)

I've done some searching around regarding unlocking my Sony Ericsson v630i and ended up buying a Total Multi Server credit since the website says it supports unlocking my phone. I also ordered a Total Server 3 in 1 cable and installed all the drivers etc.

I've loaded up the TMS client and noticed that the unlock option is greyed out. I've been back to the TMS site and seen that their tutorial for the v630i has screen shots of it working but I can't seem to get the option to become available.

Does anyone here know what I could be doing wrong.

What is this TMS for? If it is for unlocking your network why dont you flash your MAIN with
SIM lock Patch?

Hi vlax,

I'm a bit new to all this but as you say I should 'flash your MAIN with
SIM lock Patch' - how do I do this? I realise that this is probably obvious to the regulars here but could you point me in the right direction? eg software etc

Check this thread and the tutorials on SE Tool lite and installing the flash driver.
The problem is: You already paid for TMS credits. If you want to download the firmware here you'll have to pay again (although it's only 2€).

If you choose to unlock your phone with SE Tool lite and a patch created by simox patch generator: make a backup of your GDFS first!

OK, I've followed this tutorial: here. I've got my gdfs_xxxxxxxxxx.....bin file and now it says I must drag my 'MAIN' across to setool lite 1.11.

What is my main where do I get/generate it?

edit sorry Justme 'think we posted at the same time lol. So I need to pay for a firmware download? ok, where can I download the firmware? And finally whats up with Total Multiserver - it says I can unlock my phone - i've paid them money and now it doesn't work. seems like someones getting rich for doing nothing somewhere heh!

Ok I think I'm getting somewhere now - I found my way to the firmware download page here but I'm lost as to which one i need.

setool spat out a ton of info but nothing that corresponds to whats listed on the firmware page - how can I find out which on e I need?

About TMS: I have no idea what the problem is. Could be either their or your fault ;)
You should contact them and ask what's wrong.

That's not the identify log.
What did you do? Backing up your GDFS?
Please post the log of the identifying process.

You can find the log in the SE Tool folder, no need to make a screenshot. Just post the plain-text.

Just tried clicking 'Identify' and got port 8 open error: "the handle is invalid" Can't load ID loader

Tried again with standard usb cable with 'usb' selected as interface and blue bar continually scrolls accross bottom of prog' and doesn't read anything

Take out the battery for a few seconds then insert it back again.

Extract it and create a patch with simox patch generator. Patch the phone with SE Tool lite afterwards (follow simox tutorial!).

If you want to update your firmware you can also download the R1JC002 firmware.
If you do so, you'll have to upload the FS and a Custpack after you unlocked it (the MAIN already get's overwritten during the patching procedure).
You'll need VFE_2 FS and this custpack.

You'll have to gain access to the download area before you can start.

Ok, I followed the tutorial here down to part I,7 where it says:

7. Follow the instructions given by SETool2 Lite.
8. READ THIS CAREFULLY, it is a little tricky: When a dialog pop-up, click "Yes" to remove the patch. Click "No" to add the patch. In this case click on "No" button.

However the instructions on screen say:

The phone does not restart - even with the battery reinserted. In fact it will not turn on at all anymore :(

I've been reading around this subject for a while now and as far as I can gather it's supposed to be impossible to brick using setool. Is this correct? I only ask because I can't seem to get setool to recognize my phone at all anymore. I've tried to use my gdfs bin backup and ..........nothing. The phone won't switch on at all either. A friend of mine has the same phone so I've used it to recharge the battery to full and still nothing..

They phone can't switch on since the MAIN is destroyed by the alternative bypass.
So you can't even identify the phone at the moment?

If not, you should try this:
Remove the battery
Press identify
Hold down 2+5 on your phone
Plug the USB Cable in
Insert the battery

Does it get recognized now?

I just realized that you were using the COM port all the time. You should use USB for DB2020 phones, it's faster and safer.
Another thing: You set the speed to 921600, the cable only supports 115200.

It really looks like your phone is bricked now...
You can try to use the USB cable but I don't think it'll work out.

Using the com interface takes much more (more than double) time for the alternative bypass.
It should also work, but he used the wrong speed.

i bricked my sony ericcson v630i also.it wouldnt even turn on.i used the usb cable but wen applying the quick access patch i got a blue screen on the computer.i used the xs++ watever to reflash the firmware and it was repaired.i am now trying the same procedure on a different pc.what should i set the speed to for the usb cable that came with the fone?
