I dont agree.
My Sonyericssons was much more reliable then My Nokia Phones.
But as servicer I can say that both have good models and bad models.
In last time i like Sonyericsson K750 becouse I beleive him and have signal on some places where many other mobile phones are unusable. I try with more Nokias but they cant find any network.
And who knows maybe some nokia models has better signal then my K750??
The Only Things Nokia Has While SonyEricsson Doesnt Has Is Its Name. Else There Is Nothing In Nokia Better Than SonyErcsson.
I use every time SE phone, smarthpone (P800, P900, P910, P990 and P1i) and also Nokia smartphone like N95 and N95 8G. and i think that Sonyericssons was much more reliable then My Nokia Phones ..... The application is not too much for the SE phone .... this is the only difference .... unfortunatly... :(
hmmmn.. here in the Philippines, the problem would be the after sales support..
I had a Nokia phone (I think it was a 6600) that would keep shutting down on me even though there was a full battery charge. I replaced it with an SE w810i and haven't had problems since.
in my opinion Sony Ericsson are the best phones and nokia are number two,but many people think different because nokia has more promo and people considerating nokia best than sony ericsson. But they are wrong.SE are the best!
I agree with you... Sony Ericsson are the best! I love it and I will never buy a Nokia. SE rulzz!!!
your either a sony ericsson fan or nokia fan,me sony ericsson all the way every sony phone i have had has been trustworthy and fun to have
nokia have a good products for example n95 but have many problems software .but sony ericsson is better than nokia
I like both of sony ericsson and Nokia.
Sony Ericssons are definately better. You can modify them and you they are much more graphical as compared to nokia. I had a 3g nokia phone. It wasn't able to play long videos like movies properly for more than 1 hr at bitrate of 300. My GSM Sony Ericsson plays the movie flawlessly. I think it has a very good processing engine. In my opinion Sony Ericsson are better.
Well i can say that nokia phones are more "stronger" then sony ericsson, but when you comes to games,themes,wallpapers.......SE is the best. I have a w580i and my brother have a Nokia 6600......he doesen't have for ex Walkman player,Shake control,blogging,RSS.......
So i can say that in general: SE 10/10,Nokia:9/10:D:D:D
Nokia is better for cheap ( e. g: 2600, 3120) fone or very high-priced fone ( e. g: N-series). SE is better for middle class fone ( e. g: K750, W610). To me, SE has more simplicity and beauty than Nokia, So SE is the winner!
Of course SE is the best...I bought a 5700 and I wasn't satisfied at all,so I returned back to my beloved W810 and I bought a new cover...Generally,I think SE is more reliable and their phones, such as W810,are very strong and they combine business and entertainment...
I think i like SE but it hackable (I don't know about nokia)
nokias are better to me
Nokia users donot know about the capabilities of SE phones and the the speed of se phones so usually they dislike SE ........
but if it comes to ease of usability and fun SE rocks .........
in speed of set camera and entertainment nokia falls nowhere
but in apllications and software nokia does have an edge.....
but for a beautiful balance between work and play i prefer SE ......
There's different kinds of reliablity really. In my opinion, it can be broadly divided into:
Hardware
Software
Support
I've owned many phones over the years and had the experience of seeing general reliability of many more through family, friends, etc.
My personal history of phones goes a bit like this:
SE T68i
SE W800i
SE K800i
Nokia N73
SE K850i
Nokia N82
I would have to say that in terms of general solidness and build quality, the SE models (that I've used) wins out. However, there were teething problems, and I think it's something that's plagued SE for a long time and it was the joystick directional control not being very reliable (due to dust, etc). My W800i also managed to get dust under the housing screen somehow too.
In terms of software, the SE's have been almost static for a long time now. I don't mean this in a bad way, in some ways it's good because it's a seamless transition in going to other SE models. However, I find the OS very restrictive. Only really java applications can be installed unless you do some serious hacking. The software due to it's closed nature does mean that it's very stable though.
With the Nokia's, yes the first generation of Symbian (especially v9) was slow, but it made up for it with it's ability to be extended and customised with 3rd party applications. This can come at a price of stability, but in general it's very good. With the latest Nokia's the OS has speeded up considerably and is on par if not faster than SE OS.
Unfortunately, I can't comment on support since I've never had to deal with either of them.
In recent times though, I think that SE has fallen behind Nokia. My current phone is the Nokia N82 and it's build quality is extremely good as well as having an awesome feature set (wifi, gps, 5mp camera + xenon flash). I can't really see anything too innovative about SE phones since the K750i.
SE phones r much better than Nokia..The OS offers a lot more features than the dumbo Nokia..SE Rockss..really rocks.Nokia suxxxxxxxx
i have much better exp with nokia as far as we talking of phones which uses symbian
but i have better exp with sony which uses java os..
I use SE w810 for last 1 year and I had no problems at all. My old Nokia phones worked also very good but my next phone will be SE for sure
when it comes to the comparision between Nokia and Sonyericsson. Nokia wins. Ive have used all most all phones introduce by both the above companies. All ican say is nokia is far way ahead. Im not saying that SE is bad. Nokia phones r vry much user friendly. What i saw with Se was that their new models r not upto the mark they havnt introduced much since the release of K750. Of all conidered Nokia wins SE is my second choice.
It really dpends on whats needed from the customer, Nokia is not that user friendly, it took me a while to actually get used to the Nokia Menu... Sony ericsson have a much faster processor.
The only downside for SE is their very dull and always same menus and file browsers, they need something new!
it really takes awhile to get use to a new brand when u switch from one to another. I was a great SE fan from the time of T68 till recent K850. What make SE borin is that they dnt introduce anythng new. K750 was well known for its amazing sound and picture quality during its time. but their new model r under performing. When it cums to the Nokia they introduce sumthng new wit their up coming models and when it cums to txtin its so user friendly. Im not trying to condemn SE but wat im saying is they should innovate sumthng new and think of sum new platform like symbian rather than their java based platforms.
yea.. nokia is user friendly.. i find it very easy to use nokia phones even though i use SE phones for about a year.. but still SE phones are good also.. i still love my SE phone today.. just what lacking to SE is dat what Blackslash said. Nokia introduces new feautures, but SE takes for a long time to... but what so annoying here in the Philippines is that nokia releases fast new phones.. ur brand new n95 8gb is now not that popular anymore when n82 appeared in the scene... well for that i just laugh ^^.. but in SE you can feel that ur phone is still new when you buy a new one hahaha because SE does not releases new brands over in a week or so.. i just laugh of these persons in our place feel so angry that last week / month they are the stars and somebody with there techk-y phones, but today they were nobody... hehe
i really love my SE.. but in the philippines, they're just looking to sell their products.. very poor after sales support
as for the reliability i think its the same for both nokia and se phones, it depends on how u use it. nokia are user friendly, but i really love SE its cool to have..
I have used Nokia. But seeing the usage of my friends who have Nokia, I believe Sony Ericcson is more reliable phone.
I agree. Either you like sony or you hate sony there's rarely much in between. But lets face it. When we're talking about phones we're really talking about ericsson not sony. I, on the otherhand, love everything sony. My home PC, my laptop, my TV, my receiver, my BlueRay. It's all sony and it all works so well together. Oh yeah and my video cam and digital camera are sony too. I only need one type of memory whisch can be shared amongst all my devices. It rocks.
i can't say much about nokia, i've never own one, but the SE sets i have are very good. the one thing i see with SE sets is the security feature. a few pathces are out there for some of the SE sets but the patches still hav bugs. nonetheless, i'm quite ok with the SE set (w810i) i'm using now
IMO nokia sets are better build, by that I mean more durable and strong. I used to kick around my 3200 all day long :D however, SW wise SE phones are way better, much better, more customizable and easier to use.All in all ill go with a SE...........
From my experience,SE phones have a good construction...I have never experienced a problem....
But in some models(like K850i),there are a lot of software problems which are unacceptable for a top-model like this....
I love sony ericsson 4 its qualty phones nokia has less quality!
I dislike nokia because my first (and last) nokia phone - the 8210 - started to run down in its menus, even calling when keylock was on and finally it burnt itself down  an inside element -not the battery- exploded and burnt the MoBo and the back of the battery. -of course a few months after the guarantee date... Do they put clocks in those things?
In all fairness i do have to admit that my phones don't have a relaxed life: sun and hot weather, cold temps down to -20 degrees Celsius, moisture by rain, beachsand,...
Switched to SE T300... ugly, veeeeeery slooooooow - texting on this thing was hellish - but robust and fair standby time. Put out of service after about 2years+ when standby dropped to somewhat of 2days.
Switched to Siemens and i still adore them. M65 & M75: survival kit with phone capacity. Nothing can stand up to these beasts... except for standby time, witch was really sad on both :(
Siemens & Benq quit making phones, so here i'm back @ SE, quite happilly using an w710 but always having to pay attention not to demolish the phone during outdoor activities...
Point of View on user friendlyness: Nokia wins here by far for low end users. SE's structure is more accessible, with nokia you run down the menus until you finally find the thing you were looking for ... But i still remain Siemens fan even if their menus werent logic at all
I don't like NOKIA phones because they have too complicated menus, but I like N95. :D
Till now here had always SE phones, but lately see around more often software problems, which me very be sorry! Perhaps as far as I'll buy new phone,so I will try Nokia...
I feel that more and more often phones get released, that don't ave a bug-free software yet. It seems that buyers are expected to update their phones as the firmware on new models still has many bugs. In the past, when it was rather unusual to update the firmware of a mobile phone, the developers didn't release phones that still had a buggy firmware.
i think if you compare the two company's phones, that Nokia are slightly more durable and can withstand a lot of abuse. SE seem to always have joystick problems, my K800i has already nearly lost the down control after about 2 months of (general) usage. Nokia also seem to have more stable firmware. still, i think SE phones are better for user friendliness and customization, and if SE would would do stricter hardware and software tests, SE would be the ultimate phone company.
i have only owned 2 sony phones the first was i think called T610 or something like that, the joystick gone faulty on that one & now i own the W850i which is the best phone i have owned so far,i have only had it for 2 weeks now so i hope it doesn't go faulty because i play games on it (i dont usually use mobiles for gaming),this phone is only let down by its very weak camera (really horrible) to take pics & movie clips. the nokia's on the other hand are solid quality phones i have owned about 6 of them & none have gone faulty, the software is basic but the phones have the worst design.i'm gonna stick with sony from now on.
