I think not. If firmware of phone is the same when you got it, then No.
Nice day
When I Was New To All These Stuff, I Flashed My k790 With k818 Firmware And It Lost Its Signals. I Didnt Knew About GDFS So I Mistakenly Flashed A GDFS From My Friends Phone And My Phone Turned Into A Brick. Although It Was My Own Mistake But The Company Swaped My Phone With A New One.
In Short, Warranty Doesn't Voids After Flashing.
tats wat i did b4... i flashed my friends mobile gdfs backup because its cda is same as my defaults so now mine cda is same as b4 but updated. but my mobile doesnt start nor recharge. so i will send it for warranty. then lets c
thanks guys
If the company finds out the firmware has been modified, they may void your warranty. The question is whether they will spend the time to find that out...
Flashind definitely voids the warranty. The question is wether the company finds out you modified the phone.
I don`t get it why it voids the warranty.
If you use the same cust pack for your region => same fs and put a main generic !?
You could say you upgraded it through SEUS, and I do not think that upgrading it would void it.
If you modify the drivers ( cam, sound ) thats another thing IMO, and that should void the warranty.
Cheers
It voids the warranty because you make changes in your phone that can harm it.
You use software which is not licensed by SE, they can't control this software. Imagine XS++ would have a bad code that causes dead phones. Obviously SE wouldn't compensate for the harm that has been one.
SE can check wether your phone has been upgraded by SEUS but they don't make use of this opportunity often, I think.
but guys i have flashed my old like gdfs and updated the phone tat is not starting and now i claimed warranty. but whenever they check my mob it will say tat its only updated. and i told them tat during the update my software is dead.
it voids waranty. You can find the document on the official site of SE where it says that changing the software voids waranty. Sorry
as long you dont have any modification on ur phone is OK..
the company i claimed warranty will come to know that phone has been modified. still when it has p1i default gdfs.???
You could say that you upgraded your firmware with SEUS (upgrading firmware with SEUS does not void warranty): if you did not change the CDA (which, anyway *is* possible with a small hack even with SEUS) they cannot say nothing...
wen i bought the p1i its cda numb was CDA162024/87 R1A i changed to CDA: CDA162022/2 R6F38. then i changed cda back to CDA162024/87 R1A and updated whch updated the CDA to CDA162024/87 R2A BEFORE giving to claim warranty. so still they will come to know that it has been modified???
Hi!
I've just gotten my hands on a Sony W960i...but the phone comes without Chinese language support. I'm thinking of flashing it to either HK/TW W960i firmware (found in the forum).
My concerns are:
a) Will this work? Is there any pre-empt actions/steps i should do before flashing it? I know it's a noob question. I've read some posts and here's what i *think* is the proper way:
i) Backup the GDFS of the mobile phone using XS++ (v3.1).
ii) Flash the W960i with XS++
b) Will the firmware i flash (HK/TW) in this instance renders my phone void of registering on my mobile operator's network? Coming from PPC background (WM2003-WM6), it can be easily updated via radio files. Has anyone tried it?
Thanks for reading.
ya make sure you back up first. mistake i did was i did backup but i couldnt find the backup folder anywhere. so make sure you have an eye on the backup folder after backing up original gdfs. flash with xs++ and warranty i'm not sure.
guys today warranty company called me and they said your phone is dead and will swap you a new phone. i think so its because i had changed everything back to default.:D:D
