Hi,
Is there anyway to add some special features like other kind of calendar format or notebook by firmware customization?
May be not .
I think we can edit something firmware but we can't add more thing in to firmware.
I have the same question.
dear marnraay, do you mean that we can just edit some xml and other text file to change some behaviour and we can not change essential parts of firmware or add new features at all?
Dear sutp.
what do you exactly want to do.
I want to know if you're in the same situation as me.
I think you are.
I want to add an internal notepad to edit and manage txt files as text files not html file like k800 do.
Good idea.
what about you rdjusr?
I realy need a jalali calendar interface.
I'm sure there is some j2me apps to handle this. why don't you use them?
I'm using one. But this is realy annoying. I have to convert jalali date using one of those j2me applications, then use the calendar to set meeting.
I see. Maybe we should think about some symbian mobile phones.
i dont understand this calender????
Now you have many Java applications that you can use for that purpose>
(notepad, word reader, adobe reader...etc)
Dear Evagenik,
Could you introduce me a notepad application that associate the .txt files and be able to send editing files directly (using bluetooth or ...) please.
Jalali calendar is persian calendar.Quote:

I want jalali calendar with ability to set meeting tasks and other things that the firmware internal calendar can do.
And if there be a java calendar to handle this, probably the application should remain runnig to alarm the meeting and tasks. Isn't it?
I think so.
The application should remain running to do something.
But what if J2ME be capable of using schedules. I mean using internal phone events.
I don't know. maybe.Quote:

Has anyone some information about this?
I haven't seen something like this before in any apps.
i'd really like somthing like that .. besides, can you post links to some j2me apps collections ? the more the better as i've browsed some of them but haven't found exactly what i'm looking for.
As for apps that run with the phone (in the backgound), the only type i've found that can do that, are some linux portable apps called "elfs". But you'll have to patch your phone, add a library file and, of cource, running elfs in background will drain your battery faster but it may be acceptable to some extent.
I'm fairly new to this and i didn't installed any of them on my w810i from lack of free time but the feedback is enourmous and besides, i haven't found an elf to replace the calendar :( If anyone does please replay here with a link, thanks!
I hope this is usefull for you :)
