He said he cant debrand it . I will attempt to do it.
My question , can I add my own logo animation splash screen.
What video format is it?

I believe the startup screens are .gif, you would then have to just name it "STARTUP_IMAGE_SEMC" without any extension. The shutdown screen is the same just named "SHUTDOWN_IMAGE_SEMC" and they would go into /fs/tpa/preset/system/settings
why did you tell him to debrand the phone?
What is your phone service?
I think you can add your own logo
which one? logo at start screen?
splash- not ".gif", only ".png"
start up- only ".gif"
shutdown- only ".gif"
Be careful. It's possible that the shop patch unlocked your phone. If that's so, your phone will be locked after debranding it. Better ask him..
Its a bit funnny, the shop is a rogers dealer. I am with fido.
The owner is a friend of mine and he does it for free. For some reason he said its illegal for him to debrand regoers phones since he work for them , but he can unlock.
I will try debranding it tonight. for the first time ever hacking a phone.
Better confirm before flashing. If its a patch unlocked phone, chances are there that it may get locked while updating or flashing.
How to see its a patch unlocked phone?
Is there any way to check that before flashing?

mine is patch unlocked and all the locks are open?
If the (original) setool2 says phone locked (when press the identify button), then the phone is really locked, or unlocked with flash patch.
Maybe other tool say it, too.
It seems to be unlocked, here's the screenshot:
You can try this combination also: >*<<*<*
Select "Service info" and next "SIM lock"..... all padlock must be open. In this case the phone is full unlocked. At any further firmware upgrade the unlock still remain.
