Hi im new to this phone stuff. The problem is i have my mates w850i which was flashing white then black now its dead. I need to reflash it somehow but i cant connect it to my pc due to my pc not reconizing the phone and it wont turn on dead as a dodo.
I own another w850i and it connects to my pc fine.
Any help would be greatful cheers.
Oh i tried connecting using xs++ but its just says cannot open phone communication port.
Turn off the phone, remove the battery, sim and memory card,
get setool2 lite 1.08
select phone type from phone type drop-down list,
press identify
reinsurt battery and holding down 2+5 connect the phone
press the unlock/repair button
then disconnect phone and try to connect to xs++ again
Thanks i got my phone hooked up to xs++ not sure on which ones of these i need.

setool2 lite has just repaired your erom so no need to flash it, i assume you want to flash the phone, if you post up a xs++ log i'll tell you what firmware you need

where the xs++.exe is there will be a file called XS++.log thats the xs++ you can open it in notepad and copy and paste the informationQuote:

thats a old erom and your firmware is old aswell

have you tryed updating the phone with seus, it will probley fix your phone you can get seus from Sony Ericsson - Sony Ericsson

Some reason XS++ says 52 and seetool lite says 49
If erom cid:52, if not you need to use seus or xs++ to update to cid:52
to unbrand,repair,update your phone you need

u need xs++3.1,
the main goes in the main box (make sure you unzip it first)
the fs goes in the filesystem box (make sure you unzip it first)
select customize filesystem check the drop down list of custpacks to see if it has the correct one for your phone,
if it does then select it and press flash.

I got update failed from seus is this bad? It has got stuck on 93% and said failed!
sometimes seus does fail try again if it fails again then use xs++, you also need to be clear on what EROM CID your phone is, xs++ displays it asQuote:

Right finaly got pass that bit all flash but phone dead as a dodo any ideas??

Well i seem to be getting somewhere slowly phone came on for about 2 seconds seen the sony ericsson screen and went of but all the lights stayed on. Now back to flashing white/black :(
