I have noticed on many websites that you are able to download FS and MAIN files. my question is where do you guys get them from? i noticed there is an R8 for the w580i, but if you go to SE's site and you check for updates it doesn't find it. i am still on my R7, ATT firmware which i can't wait to get out of ASAP. so if it isn't a BIG secret where you get the files file i would be happy to know.

think people are able to use a full SE service kit to rip firmwares off their handsets.

I think these firmwares here are from SE... Everything I downloaded from this site works perfectly :D and never had any single problem... :D. Thanks a lot to the guys getting and uploading the firmwares and other files here foru us :D
Firmware comes directly from SEMC. It has to be modified before you can use it with XS, SE Tool etc.
what sort of modification is required. is it secret.

i think theres a trick to read and copy the full FW of phones (even if they say taht isnt possible at the moment) or the other way would be that somebody of sony uploads them, but i dont think so .lol
How about the cust_packs are they also sourced from SEMC, I only ask because I need a cust_pack for w660 3 Ireland. I ended up maling my own using FAR and the xml generator. I'm wondering if their would have been an easier way.

No you can't, you have to download from computer and decompress them. I think :s
