how can i change my menu icons on k750i. i have some expirience with xs++ and setool.
Go here: http://www.se-info.nl/tweaking/?page=menu&lang=en. There is a comprehensive tutorial to mod your SE menu.
Happy modding :)
but i've got very little expirience with far manager
No need to use Far Manager... Just upload the menu.ml and the icons to /TPA/PRESET/SYSTEM/MENU/ with XS++ or SETool2 Lite.
The menu.ml is a simple text file. You can edit with a text editor(Notepad).Quote:
how to get menu.ml to edit, and are all icons in single file
I will show you the uploading procedure with an example. Shall we say, you downloaded the BlueDream icon pack(http://www.se-info.nl/tweaking/?page=icons〈=en&p=1). Unzip it, and you will get:
Bluewalkman.thm - a theme file; upload to Themes folder using SonyEricsson's file manager, My Phone Explorer etc.
menu.ml, and several*.png pictures starting with 'Icon' - upload these files to /TPA/PRESET/SYSTEM/MENU/ with XS++ or SETool2 Lite
BlueDream.jpg - do not copy anywhere. It is just a picture...
how can the right key for the main menu be used for other function
You can start here: http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?s...threaded&start=
Exactly...Quote:
so i put files in route you described, in files to upload folder in xs++ ??
I know that, but for some odd reason your post wasn't there when I posted that message. I replied to ahil13.Quote:
i don't want to change function of icons, just their look
The theme colors match with icons, and together look nice, but you can use any theme you want.Quote:
sorry, anyway after flashing do i need to apply the theme or not?
Sorry, but I don't understand your question(probably it's my fault :)) Can you be more specific? You want to create new menu icons, or you want to replace say Internet Services with Opera Mini?Quote:
i heard you can change menu icons. how can i do that?
No need to apologize :)
Here is a link: http://www.se-info.nl/tweaking/?page...player&lang=en. I not tried so don't know if it works or not. But give it a try, you don't lose anything. And as always you can use XS++ to upload the files...
Don't you put it in the "GDFS Script" box?
(I'm completely new to flashing etc. so 80% chance that I'm wrong)
You cannot apply patches with XS++. Use SeTool2 Lite. But your phone must be EROM CID49.
How to do? In SeTool2 Lite select phone type, then browse to *.vkp in "MISC files", click on Write SCRIPT button and follow the instructons. But first backup your GDFS.
For further information go here: How to apply patchs with Se Tool 2 Lite
i apllied media player icons, worked fine but for some reason it reverted to old one :(
edit: after restarting phone came back to new one :( strange
change the icons, but not they're names, just replace picture not picture name.
how ?? where can get the software ?
my problem is big. i tried two media player icon sets. first set had more custom icons than second. so now i have mixed sets of icons. for some reason sometiomes my phone changes it's mp icons to stock ones, with that some other functions of the phone stop working, when i press on/off button, the phone switches off immediately, whitout shutdown animation.
what is the prob
I think you should delete those icons(delete every single file from tpa\system\multimedia\mp), then check if the problems persists.
I read somewhere that changing media player icons will cause a lot of problems, but the sysgfx patch(you can change every icon in your phone) works well.Quote:
what is the prob
i already know the way but no i don't have the tools to do it
so god help me
where can i find some nice icons for my pure k750i ?
You do not need to reflash, just delete the files located in "tpa\system\multimedia\mp" folder.Quote:
do you think reflashing would help?
NO. The menu modding is bug free :DQuote:
and do custom menu icons cause problems?
I mean the menu modding(when you edit the menu.ml file) works fine, but the media player modding is another question(some people say it works fine others say not)...
I modded my media player look just for check if it will cause bugs(like in your case), and my result is: YES, it will cause a lot of problems(at least for me :) ).
Sure, it is possible...
Open the menu.ml with a simple text editor(Notepad), but if you have an xml editor the editing will be a lot easier due to sintax highlighting(the menu.ml is an xml file).
You need to cut the lines between <!-- Desktop Element 3 --> and <!-- Desktop Element 4 --> (3rd element - the entertaiment menuitem), and exchange with lines between <!-- Desktop Element 6 --> and <!-- Desktop Element 7 --> (6th element - the media player menu item)...
Simple eh?;)
here on forum somewhere i saw someone got link to application to change layout (modify by yourself)
can any one help me, how to put flash themes on w850i????
