XS++ question

Hi,
I am new to this board. I´ve launched XS++ 3.0 Beta with my K550i (german Eplus branding).

It tells me something about my phone is CID51 and it could change it to 52... do it at your own risk.

Here´s the log.

What happens to my phone then ? will it break?... Is there any advantage in changing the cid to 52...

Upgrading the CID from 51 to 52 gives you the option to flash the latest firmware versions available for your phone. I don't think it's a bad thing to upgrade your phone because it's performance will be improved.
If you look on TopSony download area you'll find three new firmware versions available for SE K550.

My advice is to upgrade your branded phone by Sony Ericsson Update Service first, and then flash a generic firmware version available for K550 in order to debrand the device.

New firmware versions available for K550 are:
- K550_R8AB001_RED52 with coresponding FS and CDA files;
- K550_R8AD001_RED52 with coresponding FS and CDA files;
- K550_R8BA024_RED52 with coresponding FS and CDA files;

The latest firmware version is K550_R8BA024.
You'll get the latest firmware version from S.E.U.S.
After SEUS upgrade, just flash the phone with K550_R8BA024_RED52 generic version with coresponding FS and CDA files containing your language packs.
To identify the coresponding region READ THIS FIRST.

to answer in short, cid:52 is a faster more stable erom, and u should upgrade to cid:52 with seus.

Thanks for the answer, but my problem is that my provider seems to block the firmware updates. I can´t install any via SEUS because it still tells me no update available. It seems as if I´ve got to wait a while.

I don't think that your internet or GSM provider block the firmware updates. They do not have the right to do it!
If try to update by SEUS or by other software don't forget to remove your SIM card from your phone and follow the steps ecactly as told.

ya i did converting K550i to W610i. it was very fine but i lost the cam starting by press and hold any idea??

I think SEUS updates all phones... SEUS will only update phone if and only if the it has a new firmware... If your phone is branded I think you have to wait for some time for your service provider to release the updated... each provider has its own update... apparently if I'm not mistaken Eplus has no update yet... If ever your phone is unbranded / generic you will have no problem with SEUS...

it's true, some providers don't let you update through seus, i couldn't update through seus on vodafone and i had really old vodafone firmware and at least two newer vodafone firmwares were on topsony, the only way to update is to flash with xs++ or take your phone to a se service centre and ask for a update.

Hi my friends, i´m new here, but i can see that you know a lot of these things, i'd like u to help me with a problem i have with xs++, here is the thing:

when i conect the phone, it recognizes it, but it only put me that:

& no more, only that, can u hlp me!! please, i try with wotan too, but it ask me for the login and password, i was lokking around, and i see that´s normal now, that they now force you to buy a log...!, it only put me phone found!!!

i try installing SEUS too, the drivers of Gordon's Gate, but the same thing with XS++....

Oh, my phone is dead, the red led blinks when i tried to power it.... well i have two!!! my brother's & mine!!! they both r dead!!!
