Can I use my PC as a bluetooth headset?
Hi All,
I've a W700i and a bluetooth dongle for PC.
Is there any way that I can make and receive mobile calls in the PC with bluetooth?
What I mean is that I can use the PC's soundcard to talk and the mobile transmitting the signal via bluetooth? In effect, I'm wondering if I can use the PC as a wireless bluetooth headset, using the bluetooth dongle and some software!

Alright, I tried out something and got to some point, but not to the intended point :(
Here's where I am:
- Uninstalled the original Bluesoleil 1.x from the system
- Downloaded the latest Widcomm Drivers from Broadcom site
- Installed it, got a patch for it from another forum (perhaps gsm forum), patched the widcomm driver successfully. But still no luck! It simply refuses to detect my ISSC dongle.
- So I uninstalled it as well.
- Then got hold of Bluesoleil 5.0.5 from another place and installed it.
- This one gives some services like Bluetooth PAN, File transfer, object push, Advanced Audio and Serial Port services.
- Reading the documentation, it seems the Bluetooth Advanced Audio service might be the one I need to achieve what I opened this thread for...
- But alas, as soon as i hooked up my SE W700i phone, the bitter truth hit me again.
- It seems the only services supported by this phone are Object Push and File transfer
But I'm wondering... Is it really a limitation of the phone?
Or does the phone's services get affected by the bluetooth stack in the PC in anyway?
Can someone please throw some technical light on this? Is it somehow possible to get the Advanced Audio (or handsfree gateway) service enabled for W700i?
here comes the real power of linux and open source in hacking bluetooth
there is a tool called sdptool and sdpd in linux. it allows you to enquire for various services provided by your phone. even for my k510i there were aabout 6 services available on my phone. use this to check out. its a very powerful tool which shows more hidded handled, protocols all such kinds of gizmos
