I have a feeling this is just an intermediary model, something to keep us happy till they release the N95 killer.
surely they can squezz abit more into the fone...
Anyone know which smartphones besides P1 are comming out?
Well SE could squeeze more into the next coming model. For now let us appreciate the efforts of SE for it's P1. I want this phone but the price is too high at the moment. So I'd go for the P990i cause it is a more cheaper smartphone...
I feel SE is gradually losing out to the competition when it comes to 'smart' smartphones. (pun not intended)...design-wise also, they all look like clones of each other, much like what nokia did with the 6680/7610/n70/n72 designs.
Yes because Nokia's power is into the Symbian platform. They have well perfected smartphones based on the symbian platform. But nokia w/o symbian is nothing. SE is intended for music and camera while nokia is more into messaging and user friendliness...
Now i have tried to compare some of the smartphone SE has brought on the market. take a look here
From what o have seen P1 is an upgrade to the camera and to the music functions of the P990i. If you`re using the phone as a businessperson, what sould you need all those improvements for???
If it was up to me, i`d go for a m600 :) with wlan :D. (sadly, it doues not exist such a phone (well except for the P990i ))
its newer version of 990.. if we compare p1 with n95, n95 is complete set but heavy weight. why sony not work on 16m screen.......and in new sets eg. k560,
w910,k850i they remove infrarad..
i don't think p1 should be compared with the n95. the p1 wasn't even intended to be a competitor
p1 is not perfect for,and I don't choose it!

this phone is just a mix of a p990 and a m600
The problem with P1 is that is made in the normal trend of SE models, each of them intended for one purpose walkman phones, camera phones, smart phones, whilst the N95 combines everything and this gives it a big bonus
Despite this i am whiling to give up camera utility for a wlan smart phone that can do the rest much better
Sadly the P1 has only 208 mhz or so processor....but i will be able to live up with that
p1 has the same processor with p990 but i think it faster because have double ram than p990
what is the prize in italy of the new p1i???i'm very interested
In fact a M600 + Wifi is enough for me. And M600 is better looking i think.

The P1i keypad is hard for me. Maybe my finger is too big
P1's advantages against Nokia's is its connectivity feature, like other P-series which offers better connectivity features against nokias.

SE P1i is a good phone, and I don't thik it shoud be compared whit N95 or other nokia. Of course has a 208 processor, and this is an incovenience for many people. But what is happened if a phone have a processor much bigger and much bigger, the life of the battery came down very quikly. So by happy, I recomand P1 to all.
