You should flash both MAIN and FS.
After flashing, you must do the customization:

Is the same fbn file used for both the main and fs flash?
Can I do the two flash processes and the customise filesystem in the same run of XS++ run?
For my phone XS++ shows

so I am now unclear which drop down to choose in select CD and Region

Use:
W850_R1GB001_MAIN_GENERIC_CY_RED49
W850_R1GB001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED49 and any custpack(usually latest=best).
Yes, you can make customization in the same run.

hi! this is just for incase the successful flash doesnt solve the problem.
Whats very and highly possible is that you will need to replace your top keypad membrane. its seems that there is a bad design in the w850i keypads and they are breaking after a period of use. Im guessing youve had this phone for over 18 months right?

Thanks hyperion17 - with your advice the phone flashed succesfully. Unfortunately it still demonstrates the same problem after starting up. Are you aware of any other software fixes I should try before assuming it is a hardware fault?
Thanks also to Chingy, yes the phone is more than 18 months old - is there any way of proving that the problem is with the keypad?

Hi Guys, I have the same problem. already flush my phone using xs++3.2, 3.1(darwin) but still problem is not solve. I hope somebody had already solve this problem

my SE W850i GOT PROBLEM WITH LCD SCREEN,
AS USUAL, WHEN MY PHONE IN AUTO LOCK, LCD WILL TURN 0FF AND WHEN UNLOCK, THE LCD SCREEN WILL AUTOMATICALLY TURN ON..

After looking closely at the XS++ info I decided to install W850_R1ED001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED49.fbn.
The Flash seamed to complete succesfully, switching the phone on now results in a couple of vibrations followed by a solid white screen being displayed.
At least it is consistent now
i guess your phones layout file must be missing just re install it.....

Hey bro...i think u better upgrade ur CID49 to 52...then flash the phone again with the firmware files for CID52(which meanz u need 2 dwnlod d fw filez again!)...also after cmpletin flashin, apply a custpack by using the custpack optionz of XS...u wil need 2 kno the region nd CDA to select the proper custpack for ur phon!.. :)
