to adhere icons (png) /menu (GIF) to k790/k800 with “phone xc”

:eek:good, as they were requesting a manual to put menus to him to k790/k800, I occurred time to do one small one, I hope to them serves to them.

WE NEEDED:

1.-phone xc.rar
2.-menus to k790
3.-DCU cable
4.-battery to the 100% (is important! since the process takes approximately of 5 minutes to 6 hours)
5.-to retire sim card and memory stick
6.-drivers adapted USB flash drivers(ggsemc).rar

PROCEDURE:

1.-decompress the menu, that this in format to: .rar. inside comes a called folder TPA

2. - we put folder TPA within the folder of phone xc call FILES_TO_PHONE:

3.-now we opened phonexc_dcu60.exe

4. - now it is moment for connecting I telephone to the cable pressing button “C”

5. - now it is single question to wait for the program:

6. - when the process has finished appears to them the following screen:

7. - in good hour you have new menu! , already you can disconnect cable DCU.

this is used for the following telephones:
•w810
•w600
•w300
•w850

On a note, this will work for all CID49 phones (k790/k800).

will normal far manager and XS++ work with k790 ??

no k790i is not supported far manager yet

why cant i take those files?
when i press like phoneXC it comes up and log in windows... and ill try login in and it says wrong password or username:confused: :eek:

can this method also be used with XS++ and phoneXS cause i prefer those instead of phoneXC

Hey guys, thanks for all the info. I was able to make icons, and change the main menu, in my Z525. I was going to do this same with me w300i. I like to take all the internet icons out, as I don't use any of those services. I was just wondering if I could get the original pictures of like the Alarm clock and Calandar and things. If it's in the firmware, I'm guessing no, so I'll just have to do what I did before. Find some I like then make icons out of them. Anyway thanks for the great forum. I couldn't have made the mods I have without your help.

Hi, i installed the menu_backstreet_rotary on my k800i, it works fine just that when u select for e.g. organizer press back and the icons are gone but they are still in function (i have to press any direction for them to show up again) does this happen to anyone else?

when i use phonexs put the menu on the phone but then when i turn my phone on and go on menu it has and X but i stiill can use the menu
but no photo or icons are on

Ok, that means that the menu.ml is completely right installed and works. Just the images arent in the right place. Do you use icon*_selected.png.@ -trick?
If so, look if the directory is right.
If you dont use this trick, try to copy the missing cions into the same folder as the menu.ml (and check menu.ml if there the images have same name)

What do you mean by icon*_selected.png.@-trick
explain pls because i really want to change the icons.

it`s depend on creating a shortcuts in phone FileSystem.

in each schortcut is information about oryginal location of file.
to fully change menu style you need to upload 25 shortcuts, but you do it only once

so in fact you can store menu and icons in phone memory or memory card and easy change it from your computer using f.e. data cable or BT, or eaven included phone file menager.

its hard to explain in english :/

If you whant to change icons in phone you will need 25 files.
24 png icons and menu file.

for easy create shortcuts is also possible to use "se_shortcut.exe" program, it is runing under DOS console, but it`s fast :)

almost ;)

but in your case it will be /usb/other/icons/
k800 like my own W810 have this one difrent, user accessable memory is located in usb folder, not tpa

you can modify that direction as you like, but only using hex editor, not notepad !

depends. as you havent used the shortcuttrick as of yet, u have to put them into /tpa/present/system/menu

Well, as far as im concerned W200I should work with flash themes, it reads flashs, and one of the themes changes the icons (Dunno if this is flash or what...), but i cannot find anything related to using SWF menus on my W200I... anyone could point me to some link? :P
