Terrebly sorry but I could use some help with my s500i

My phone died, no damage, no dropping, no water, it just died in my pocket from one hour to another.

When I take out the battery, re-insert and try to power up the LED on the right hand side flashes three times. I've gathered this means software damage och EROM damage of some kind?

I've found lots of useful guides for SEtool2lite and xs++ and files to go with them but they all start the same, hold "C" and isert USB. When I do this nothing happens!:confused: If I connect using the hold "5+2" and insert USB it finds something but there seems to be problems with gdfs and/or EROM.

I tried the guide here for fixing EROM problems with this result when using "2+5" and identify:

I can't repair with Unlock/Repair as in the guide. I can't connect to anything using "hold C", no program recognises the phone. No service place I went to wants to fix this, they just want to sell me a new phone and I'm really strapped for cash.

I don't know if this is the right place for this question and I hope I don't upset anyone by asking this! I'm really desperate!

Well, I am sorry but im pretty new at using forums and I have never tried to fix a cellphone before. I hope you have a little patience with me (and pardon my english).

As you pointed out I found something that sounds exactly like the problem I've been having in under trouble shooting in setool forum (which I didn't find before, sorry!)

Setool does not recognize the phone and a red light blinks when you try to connect to the PC or try to turn it on? It does not power ON?
This means EROM damage.
Solution: Flash ONLY Main part in recovery mode (2+5)

So this is what I tried to do but no luck so far.

The USB cable is working perfectly, the battery though is harder for me to say. I've been charging it but since the phone is dead and the only indication of life is the flashing red LED light that appears when I try to turn the phone on or connect it to my pc I don't know if it is charging.

I've found some other posts in other forums with the samt problem but other models suggesting a MAIN flash too so I will give this a try tomorrow. I'm really greatfull for your input and I hope you can aid me in my efforts (since I cant afford a new phone for about 8 weeks :)) And if I get to be to much of a pain in the ass, don't think twise about telling me to sod of :o

with ur phone in the state it is it wont charge do u have any other sony eicsson phones ?

Well I do but it's a much older one and it's not the same type of battery! I guess I'll have to find someone who has a phone like mine and charge the battery for it to work? I tried stickin' it in the charger but I just got one red LED flash so I guess your right about that one!

But the idea of flashing the MAIN in repair mode (2+5 to dock) using the firmware for S500 i downed from this site sounds like a good idea or am I way of?

I'm really greatefull for all you help and input. Il keep trying. Don't now much about phones and I guess I'm behind you when it comes to computers as well but if you ever need help when it comes to biochemistry or physics don't hessitate to ask :)

I'll get back to you when i find someone who can charge the battery!

recharge ur battry then just try to flash the main only 1st see how that goes

Battery is being recharged right now, a friend had a newer SE phone with the same battery! Will try later on tonight!

Hi there again. I tried to flash MAIN as suggested in the trouble shooting area!

Sadly without any visual results, I think the flash went OK but the phone is still dead.

These are the file I understand I would need for a complete flash:

Plus a TPA folder, could this be the one?: layout_original_s500 (tpa)
Could this be a solution to my problems?

I'm really sorry but I'm kind of "out of options" here. Any info you need to help me, anything you would like me to try, don't hessetate to ask. Phone is still' dead with o option to pay 40-50 EURO for a repair. Greatfull for any input!

they are the right files now flash the fs then the custom pack to it in rar fourm

I have to pop uut for an hour but yes, I will try this as soon as I get back!
To be sure, I first flash FS in the same way as the MAIN, add it to the "files" field and hit "flash". Then the custom pack in the MISC files field using the "..." button and then hitting "flash"

Well the battery isn't broken since my friend could charge it without problems. I've seen the D-Ultimate Unlocker in download section, is this D-Ultimate Unlocker is some kind of web based service where you pay to get things repaired?

yes u do have to buy a log for it to fix the sec uints on ur phone that costs 10 euros cheaper than sending it away to be fixed and it will fully unlock it at the same time

Quite right, it's a lot cheaper. But i downloaded the program and read the faq. It seems that the only way to restore the gdfs is load the file from my computer, which I dont have since I didn't have a previous backup. Then after selecting the gdfs restore file continueing, but is this where I use the file I downloaded from here or isn't this an option since I don't have a GDFS restore file?

Sorry friend, had an little accident yesterday, got hurt while training, had to talk to a Dr. and so on!

OK, I read something about that yes, buy one log (10 euro) via pay pal. Now I know I'm a but slow whit this stuff so bare with me :). I guessed that I should buy this to do something but thats were the ol' grey matter failed me, when looking at the program! Yes I would like to at least give this a try before I waste the minimum cost of about 40 euro to let the shop try to repair my phone so yes I would love your assistance in trying to fix the phone useing "D-UU".

Hi again! Well I'm sorry, I would really like to do this right now and get my phone back but I really don't have 10 EURO to spare this month either so... I know how it sounds but I have 14 EUROS left that has to last til' the 25 th.
