Hello!
I got a problem with my s500i. When i turn the camera on and take i picture it just turns the camera off and goes back to the menu. It's kind of wierd because i can record movies with the camera but i can't take photos.
Can anyone please help me? I'm good with phones and i've triead flashing it. The phone is currently cid 53 with firmware R8BE001.
were did u get the main and fs files from
I got them from here from TopSony, and btw im using a DCU-60 cable if it means anything. I also have other cables i could use if it would help..
if reflashing it fully hasnt helped then its a hardwere fault ir the flexi ribbon or some fourm off water damge
Okey thank you for the quick answer. But how can I record videos with the camera then? And i can see picture when I open the camera, the only thing I cant do is save the photos i take. I've tried taking different kind of pictures, for example i tried taking pictures with frames, and it worked!:confused:

I've exactly the same problem on my w580i CID53 DB2020 flashed. The camera was working, but after installation of a few patchs(vkp), the camera doesn't work anymore. I tried a hard reset, and a complete flash from scratch, and the camera doesn't work anymore too...

Sorry, I can't help you, i've choosen to don't use the camera... Nobody can say me how to solve the problem...

My k750i has the same problem. But I havn't flashed, I just upgrade the camdriver0.dat.
Have you backup the camdriver0.dat? I compare the drivers and find out that
cam_ss_sync=7 (version 3.8) change to cam_ss_sync=f (version 6.0).
And I edit the new driver, it work.
May be the old machine can't support the new setting. My k750i's firmware is the first version.
I think you have a good point there! I mean why does some futures on the camera work and some dont? I think it's something wrong with the cam driver. My only problem is i don't have the original one unfortunately:/ if anyboy has please post it!Quote:

I've managed to extract FS now. But none of the cam drivers i tried worked anyway. If anyone has the original FS for S500i please post it here so i can extract it and try that cam driver.
I've also noticed that when i change this:
cam_vf_sync=5; to for example cam_vf_sync=6; i only get a black screen on the cam.
When i change this:
cam_ss_sync=5; to for example cam_ss_sync=6; the cam works, and when i try to take a photo it takes much longer for it to return to the menu then before. It still dosen't work, but it kind of gets stuck for a while.
If anybody know what we should change in the cam driver to get it to work please post your ideas here!

You can find FS files on the download section of Topsony.
Do you remember the original firmware or camera version? Try to find this version's driver.Quote:

i still think its a hardwere fault
might be the camera pata cable, change it and see if it works before spending a lot of money

The first two drivers(OmniVision 3.7) are same and not like original.Quote:

I've found the solution for mine.
The problem is from the Memory Stick. Try to launch camera, take off the memory stick, put it in, and try to take a picture. It's working for me...

s500 and w580 are the same phone just have diffrent houseings so i would off though the drivers are the same for the camra

Yes I could take photos before i flashed it, even after. And it dosen't work to save photos in phone memory or change size and quality. I can only take panorama pics and frame pics.Quote:
