Ive got my hands on a Generic K530i CID53 firmware, and my phone is currently locked to Hutchison a.k.a. 3 and using the new method, i was wondering if its okay to patch the 3 phone with a generic firmware. If i do this, will it damage my phone? Or will nothing happen at all?
Flash your phone with that generic main and then it will work. The best is if you reflash the phone completely(MAIN, FS, custom pack), and then unlock it. But first backup your data from phone's internal memory.
ah thanks.. last question, I only have the main atm, will it be fine if i leave the 3 (hutchison) FS and cust pack alone and just reflash the main with the generic? Any conflicts etc. Plus can a QA patch and a Rest file generated using the generic firmware work with the current locked firmware, or it doesnt matter at all?
EDIT: Btw, what im trying to is, not unlock it, but flash it with a W660i CID53 main, fs and cust pack, which would unlock it anyway. Ive already got all of these files ready to go, and kinda scared that i would completely brick my fone.

NO, because every patch is made for a specific MAIN. The phone type, firmware version and branding must match.Quote:

You can do that. Then generate a QA and an unlock patch from W660 main, and apply them.Quote:

First make full flash with W660 firmware(MAIN,FS and CUSTPACK) and than apply QA patch and rest for W660 MAIN

Just open it in JDFlasher and flash the firmware without touching anything?

No,at this point you need to use db2020 script and open ofs and browse to tpa/preset/custom

=S i get a "bad answer 10" when i try to access oFS with db2020 script.. any ideas?
This is the only thing stopping me from successfully flashing my phone =(
EDIT: I found out that its a problem with the bin file:
070904 1245 DB2020_CSLOADER_R3A013.2020_53_RED.
When it tries to do cmd3c using that file, it gets a bad reply...
does anyone know of an update?

I finally found out the answer for any person that gets a "Bad Answer".
The CID53 patch that comes in the new JDFlasher update, DOES NOT support your phone.
I realized this after looking at the Sony Ericsson Secret Menu lol (> * << * < *). If you go to the Software Info and take a look at your EROM, it'll say that you have a higher version than the R3A013 supported by the CID53 patch. Mine is a R3A022, meaning its unsupported at the moment, hence getting bad replies from jdflasher.
EDIT: So, back to the point, does this mean im stuck and i cant flash it?
Ill post XS++ info later.
Start from beggining and DON'T turn on phone until you upload executor and cust_upgrade
