Please help!! W600i May have wrong GDFS?

I cant get my W600i to flash and work. It has WSOD. It takes the Main and Fs in setool but I get "wrong response, break. loader fs startup failed, that is fatal" when trying to load custpack. I put the custpack in the "misc files" window but it wont finish I get that error. I tried to use XS++ Darwin and got this error when trying to flash FS:

I dont know what to do to get it working now. I tried to write the GDFS back to the phone using the GDFS I backed up and got this from setool:

I read the post about repairing gdfs but dont understand. Can someone please help? I hope I'm posted in the right place!

Flash ONLY MAIN , by pressing "2" and "5" instead "C", when you connect with Setool.
If it still not works, flash the FS without CDA. If it turns on and gives configuration error, flash CDA.

show a read out from se tool lite if it has a imei missmatch then that is becuse uv wrote a diffrent gdfs to the phone and killed it the only way to fix is with se tool box and test point or buy a log for D-Ultimate Unlocker and press press unlock and fix sec units these are the only 2 ways to fix it or wright the gdfs back up from that phone if u still have

u wont be able to fix it by flashing if u have wrote the wong gdfs to it :(

I dont see anything saying missmatch but during FS flash it seems there is a Block error.....block error last blk:50010000,00010000. What does this mean? And I have been working a trojan issue with qmaker.exe. I dont think its affecting this, I hope. I have made an exception to ignore it in Norton AV.

What is jd flasher, where do I get it and what do I flash?

You will find jdflasher here Jdflasher CID53 update - Top Sony Forums ,but use this tutorial DB2010 cid49 with Far + SEFP, Tested with k750 - Top Sony Forums and choose SEFP plugin instead jdflasher.And try with full flash(all 3 files)

Wow seamonkey.....that's complicated. It will take me a long time to figure that out. I really appreciate your help and I'm glad you understand it but I dont! Let me get it right. Use Far? What is it and where do I get it? I tried to download the 3.3.rar but couldn't. Registered with se nse but no email yet so...................... on that! All three what files? I'm a newbie..........just learned setool and XS++. Dont do this enough to be good at it. So be patient please. It looks like the tutorial uses the old XS++ called Phone XS2, am I correct there? And I should get db2010cid49_3_3.rar.zip somewhere? And use XS++ Darwin to flash with using the previous zip file? Now I would need Far Manager right? But where is Far download? It looks to be a dos program like the old norton commander. Not sure if I can do it. Dont want to make things worse. May need more help if I do that!

I'm not sure if I should do what seamonkey says. I dont think he would steer me wrong but you said I must fix the GDFS. I have looked at my previous phones log file and it said the same thing and its working sooo........ how do I fix GDFS? I will have to get some rest also....been at this all day.

Just download jdflasher and when you connect your phone with him-you will get small window and there you will see plagins - choose SEFP plugin instead jdflasher and follow tutorial( in jdflasher must be all needed files for CID49 phones ) If you get some error copy here and will see. And about 3 files - I mean MAIN,FS and CUSTPACK

Ok, I cant get "db2010cid49_3_3.rar.zip" or "jdflasher" or "FarManager170PluginsSEFP" or "sefp v0.10.0.51" . Ran far 1.70 but phone is now not responding. Far has selection for "just da flasher", "Script w600", bflash, bfs, oflash, ofs, use it and cant get anywhere! Im retarded with this!!! I cant get anywhere!! Phone Dead!! I knew I would screw it up! Now what! I dont understand Far and jdflasher even read!

Hi seamonkey, sorry but I was tired last night when I quit. So I need CID 53 update? Go from CID 49 to CID 53? Thought I needed db2010cid49_3_3.rar.zip. One question.....is Far a flashing tool, browsing tool or a data copying tool?

Don't take every word that you read,but you need CID49 and firmware files must be CID49 and Yes with jdflasher you can flash,upload and copy files to phone and from phone.So, in your case(I mean your phone) you can do everything you want

"make_rest" - copy your main here and drag'n drop over ssw2rest and you will get W600rest)

Ok I found ssw2rest. My main what drag over it? I dont get it? I have a file named W600_R7CA017_MAIN_NAM_1_EE_RED49.mbn in that folder. I dragged it to ssw2rest and nothing happened? Is that the file your talking about....mbn file? Where does the rest file go to?

Its hopeless.........tutorial says I need ssw file...you say I need main? Passed over ss2rest. All that does is make a rest file. If I could get it to work! I need a file with extension .SSW per the tutorial. I tried using XS++ with regualr main not .ssw file and then went into far and it freezes when I get to the part that says >Select the cable , maximum Speed and the script which represents your phone and press Enter The Matrix ! After That you will have FS and FLASH , just press FS and you should be able to access it just like you can on CID 36 phones ! I cant access nothing! it freezes up and I have to close far. Can someone PLEASE....tell me what I need to do to get this far..king....thing to work? I have down loaded 2 gb worth of stuff and I am so confused about FAR I am ready to take a hammer to the phone. Well...after spending five days of my holidays trying to fix my phone I have failed miserably! I dont get it. I cant get the right files! I cant operate FAR, SEPF, JD FLASHER I dont understand the concept of how each one is suppose to work and what each thing does. I cant do it without more knowledge if the workings of them and without detailed instruction. It seems there is not enough information anywhere for me to learn how it works. This is all I get. I have tried to use Far, SEFP and JD FLASHER with no luck. I followed every tutorial I can find here in TopSony and other places and have found no good instructions as to what I am doing or need to do. Only bits and pieces here and there. I wish someone could help me Understand all this!! I dont have a concept as to how the flash memory on this phone works. I have read about erom, main, fs, custpack, and seens thousands of files with extensions of .ssw, .hdr, bin, .ldr, .rest etc. I have downloaded about 2gb of sony ericsson files and stuff but most are not W600i related, seems they are omitted for SOME reason. I read I need a file from DenPo but I cant get it. I have tried every link possible to get what I need but cannot. Read everything and still cannot work without files I guess. I tried FAR, SEFP and JD FALSHER but I was only guessing because the tutorial was too general for me. It did not work for me the way it says.
My only hope is for someone who knows how to communicate this to me and tell me how the Flash memory is suppose to work/structured and how the files are installed to it. I have flashed my computers BIOS/ROM for years with beta's and so forth but was never this hard to understand. I know I am a newbie but I am fried to the crisp now and ready for the nut house. My job requires following procedures and I have written procedures myself and this has too many holes in it and blank pages for me. Someone PPPLLLLEAASE help me. I know I may requied extra help and would greatly appreciate it if you could. Hell I'll pay for a collect call at this point.

Did you ever get your phone flashed? I have the same issue, but have only been reading for 3 days and haven't tried anything yet.

Stopped at the fake trojan horse. Plus because I can't see the writing on my WSOD screen... trying to figure out which firmware and files i need for my unlocked cingular SE w600i is difficult. Why can't we create a wiki with screenshots of each step? Should I give up before I try?

jd flasher is the one tool i have never used why are u useing it again buddie and not se tool

THIS IS FOR PHIL: With se tool I flash Main and it seems to work, then when flahing FS I think it fails because when I try to flash fs it has fatal error. Seamonkey said far and jd flasher would help me but I need some in depth, detail instructions and also some files I dont have. THIS IS FOR MM12573: Sorry mm125753, I can't get it to work yet but if I get it working I will help you. Right now i'm in the learning stage myself. I need to understand the structures of MAIN, FS, Custpack, EROM, SSW Etc before I fully understand them and then how far works with the plugins and where to get the files needed for it to work on the w600i. I dont know if the flash memory in the phone are separate flash chips or if its on a single chip, or with with partitions and where each file (MAIN & FS) reside and how to use far to copy them over.

its like the Concord Fallacy at this point but I'm determined to get my phone back.

I may even buy a few other bricked w600i off ebay if mine doesn't work just to see.

I actually made progress at one point by just flashing the mbn file using setool2.

It booted again and got me back to the WSOD. Unfortunately that is just back to where I was. I was hoping to actually get rid of the white screen so I could read sms and not manual dial anymore.

But now I'm back to a brick. I think part of my problem at this point may be that I have a very old or weak battery.

In the bricked stage I think the battery won't charge long enough. Either that or I've worn out the cables.
The red light will only come on for about 5 minutes and then it will not come back on until I try a partial flash and drain it again.

Finally, figured out that dragging .mbn file to ssw2rest.exe was actually creating the rest file (without .rest at the end) in my c:/documents and settings/username/ directory...

Maybe now I can full flash using
W600_R7CA017_MAIN-FS-CUSTOM.rar including:

.mbn, .fbn, .zip, and (.rest I created)

Never tried that.

However, i'm worried because I've never been successful with any of the programs to backup my GDFS. It always just goes on until my phone is drained.

I can get back to the WSOD by using XS++ to flash only the firmware and filesystem and custom pack selecting a region

it says flashed firmware main and filesystem success and success the CS-loader has been unlocked but then during fs customization it seems to hang forever on activating filesystem...
finally i give up and stop it.
but it hangs on activating the filesystem

mm44165, did you ever get it fixed? WSOD?
